Works For Me Wednesday- Favorite Recipes

I love to cook! I used to have all these printed recipes from the computer or tabs sticking out of my cookbooks or magazine pages with recipes, everywhere. Then I bought a Family Favorites blank recipe holder cookbook from Gooseberry Patch. ( I am also a Gooseberry Patch fan as well). In this book I compile all my FAVORITE family recipes. Not just ones that are okay, but the ones that you want to keep forever and know EXACTLY where they are. Yes it does take some time to write them down but once you do they are all in one place and you can add to it as you go. I don't know about you but with so many cookbooks it's hard to remember what recipe was in what cookbook. Now when I find a keeper I write it down in this book. It even has a cute cover done in traditional Gooseberry Patch style. Never buy these books full price. I got this book at JoAnne fabrics and used my 40% off coupon. I also get most of my books off of ebay. Who can afford them otherwise lol!

Here's a peek at the inside. If you look hard enough you might get a couple of my favorite recipes lol.
For more Works for Me Wednesday ideas go to Rocks in My Dryer and check them out!
Blessings my friends.

  2. I'm a fan of Gooseberry patch too! I buy mine at Michaels craft store w/ their 40% off coupons. I've thought about making cookbooks for my girls of family favorites and fun recipes we have made together. I don't even want to think about the day when they will be on their own, but I do like the thought of blessing them w/ this gift someday...many years from now!

  3. Yes, those books are handy dandy. Mine aren't GBP, but I have two of them, because one got too full. Now I have one for desserts and breads and one for main dishes. :)

  4. That is great! What a cute book and that helps so much to organize recipes like that. I have a bit of a recipe problem myself and already have everything I need to organize - just have to DO it!!

  8. I really (really, really!) need to get all my recipes organized. Mine are hopelessly strewn about in 2 different binders and it takes forever to locate what I'm looking for. I keep saying I'm going to sit down one day and get it all in order........... LOL!

Did you know you also qualify for a teacher's discount card from JoAnn as a home educator? You get an additional 15% off purchases (although not things that you use the 40% or 50% coupons on). It's a great way to save a wee bit extra.
