Now I ...Oh wow - I didn't know you were so famous! Now I am intimidated to be your friend - LOL!!

That is very exciting and so cool that you were able to sell those tickets. I don't think I have ever been on the radio or TV. My only fame would be high school plays and being interviewed for the local newspaper about being in a play. I got my pic in the paper and a short bit about the show. I was doing a Monty Python skit with a British accent - LOL! It was for a comedy dessert theater we did each year. I do wish I had video of all that stuff.

Big Radio STAR Hugs to you!!!

Oh, and I finally have my post up - and thanks to you, sort of, I am getting off the computer now until much much later. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06958936771590770427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693059274637695423.post-65343730978707031552009-03-16T14:02:00.000-04:002009-03-16T14:02:00.000-04:00Oh my stars, my friend...I wish I'm so glad I didn...Oh my stars, my friend...I wish I'm so glad I didn't know you were a celebrity when you were here, I'd have been so nervous cooking you dinner! lol

Love you!Debra Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07000047547485337865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693059274637695423.post-3315620471727175872009-03-16T10:52:00.000-04:002009-03-16T10:52:00.000-04:00How cool! I wanna say like $200, but I'm not real sure of the amount. It was probably rhe station's call #. Anyhow, the deal was to know the last 7 (or some # thereabouts) songs - AND artists - they played before the signal. Then you had to be the __th (insert random #) caller.

I've been on tv several times. In high school, I sang with Fred Waring's chorus in one of the big concert halls in... uuuhhh... St Pete, I think. In Daytona, I went to the bandshell to see Nashville on the Road. I had on my big shades and a floppy hat and one cameraman came up and held the camera right in my face (well, profile, actually). I didn't know whether he wanted me to turn and look, so I stared straight ahead for at least 30 seconds Do you KNOW how long 30 seconds is?! When it aired, my MIL called from Jax. We hadn't said anything, but she recognized me. So much for my disguise, lol! Another time, at USF, I sang a duet from Oklahoma on their closed-circuit channel. Seems like there might have been 1 or 2 more, but more as a member of the crowd. Wow, what a trip down memory lane! You should have made this a meme, lolol!

Oh, yeah, I won a couple of Christian radio contests. Cassette tapes, I'm sure. In one, I had to answer some obscure question. The dj wondered how I knew the answer... I said, 'we homeschool... HSers know everything'. *bg*

Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^SophieMaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09396958301555933308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693059274637695423.post-30662452759335488572009-03-16T10:05:00.000-04:002009-03-16T10:05:00.000-04:00That is awesome, Kim! It was called the Maalox Moment and you had to write in with your story of a Maalox Moment, well, mine was more like a Maalox Day...not a moment. Needless to say...I'd had the day from...well, you know where. When they called me to tell me that I won and they said thwy knew it was true because no one could have made a story up like that. Hehehe! I won a trip for 2 to a resort about 3 1/2 hours away. We had a great time. Now, you have me reliving that time in my life and wanting to share it also.

Have a great day!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12379308095114107570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1693059274637695423.post-15187830545683421782009-03-16T09:43:00.000-04:002009-03-16T09:43:00.000-04:00Too funny.
