Works For Me Wednesday- Book Review

Passionate Housewives Desperate for God

This book worked for me in many ways. It was so inspiring in my roll as a wife. It's been around for awhile but I don't think I ever talked about it and I'm not sure why.
If you are struggling to see God's vision for womanhood or caving to the worldly views of what a woman should be, then this book is for you. This was such a great read. It is so honest and fresh in its approach to our calling as wives.
If you pick one book up this year to read, let it be this. It will encourage you and bless your socks off.
If you have read this book then please leave a comment below to share with others who have not.

  2. Kim,

My role as a home maker was so wired incorrectly from a small age ~ I am so glad the Lord and my hubby were patient with me and helped me to get it right.

I would love to read this book...especially if it is endorsed by you. You are never to old, right?

    Hugs to you, my friend.

  3. Good Morning Kim!

Thanks for the comment and I love that your husbands bible study will be focusing on husband and marriage! LOVE IT!

The book you are sharing was my first give-away over a month ago.

I agree it can really open things up for wives to see that the submission must first come to God so that they will find joy and love as they submit before their spouses. It is a great book in many ways!

    God bless and love,
    Jill

  4. I have been hearing about this book over and over again. I will have to see if our library carries it.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention again.

  5. Although I work outside the home, I have the book. I am definitely going to read it. I'm so close to retirement (6 years, baybee!) that unless God told me otherwise, I'll continue to work until then, but at the age of 44 I will finally be able to be a SAH Wife to Steve! Woo-hoo!!!!!

Amen, on the blog comment - we should all rent one of those big cabins in the mountains and get together for a "blog retreat" and rock our cares away as we chat chat chat!

  6. How could I have not heard of this book before??? It sounds like a wonderful encouragement, even to us old die-hards. I'm such an anomaly in today's world, particularly in the circles of Duller's career. It's so refreshing to see so many women turning back to the path God cut for them.

  7. I love this book. It is definitely among my favorites. I just wish it had been around 13 years ago. It would have helped me to see that Biblical womanhood doesn't mean I have to neglect my family and get involved in all the church ministries. I would have been encouraged to see my role as a wife and mother as fulfilling God's plan for me.

    I deem this book a must-read..

    Blessings on your day,
    Patti

  8. I forgot to say that I am willing to loan this book to anyone that would like to read it. Media mail isn't very expensive, so I would send it that way, then they could send it back the same way when they are finished.

If anyone is interested in that option, please contact me through my blog. I'd love to make this wonderful book available to you.

  12. A friend of mine gave this book to me as a gift. Even though God had already turned my heart toward home, this book was a great encouragement to read and I was able to pass it on to another dear friend.

I hope many of the ladies that read your review will pick one up and read it.
