Keeping Christ in Christmas Giveaway

My dear friend Sunny over at A Damsel No Longer in Distress is having a giveaway.
One of the ways to enter was to answer the following questions.

  • At what age did you recognize you were in need of a Savior?
I asked Christ into my heart when I was 7 years old. It really sunk in when I met my husband at age 25 and we both rededicated our lives to Him. Since then is when I've done all my growing in the Lord.
  • Who shared the Gospel with you (you don't have to share names unless you just want to)?
My Mom! Thank you Mom and Dad for being the best parents ever!
  • What was your first reaction when you heard the Gospel for the first time?
It was very calming. I was afraid of the dark and couldn't sleep and that's when my Mom really told me about Jesus and after that I was never scared again.
  • How long did it take you to understand Jesus is the only Savior, repent and trust Him with your life?
It was instantly. Though my teenage years would tell you differently, I always knew in my heart the significance of what Jesus did for me. I officially handed HIM the reigns when I was 25.
  • How often do you share the Gospel with others?
Honestly, not very often. I'm home a lot and when I go out it's very early to get errands done. I don't run into a lot of people, but when the opportunity arises I try to jump on it.
Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

What plans do you have to become more committed to sharing salvation in Christ with others?
My husband is a great example to me. I gleam off of him so much. I started carrying tracks in my car and purse for the "just in case" situation that arises.
  • What scares you the most about sharing the Gospel and what Scriptures have helped you overcome those fears?
I am not a person who likes confrontation. I will go out of my way to avoid it. So the thought of rejection always intimidated me.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

  3. Oh Kim, I enjoyed this post so much! I like the fact that you noticed that before you accepted Jesus you were afraid of the dark, and after that, you weren't. What a tangible way to see the Spirit of God in a child. Love your heart, dear one.

  5. Great Post!!! That is a great giveaway. We love Ray Comfort and have a lot of his stuff. He's great at teaching you how to share the Gospel. However, like you I get very little opportunity, as I am at home most of the time. That's ok though because we are raising up pockets of light to go out and share the Gospel. We too will have our chance one day.

  7. Kim,

This is my favorite post of yours! I love it. I'm so emotional reading it...I love that you gave your heart young but then handed Him the reigns at 25. That's exactly what I did.

I'm so glad that you are no longer afraid of the dark. I was too and it was awful. How precious is our Jesus to calm those fears!

And confrontation ... oh, count me out! Now about that giveaway! LOL

Hugs to you! Truly, loved this post!
