I am very excited to be able to offer you another Gooseberry Patch cookbook.
Let’s face it, when you think of Gooseberry Patch you think of down-home cooking and comfort foods right? Well this book isn’t going to be much different. This cookbook still offers homestyle flavors but uses more fresh ingredients. Who doesn’t like to use fresh ingredients? I know I do.
I love how adaptable these recipes are. If you don’t like things overly sweet, then cut back on sugar. Want to cut more calories? Replace half the oil with applesauce.
I use Gooseberry Patch cookbooks all the time. I love em' and have found a lot of new favorite go to recipes. I think most people can make any recipe work for them because these recipes are from real people like you and me.
Let’s take a peek at the Table of Contents.
There are so many things I am going to try in this cookbook. Like the Apple-Pomegranate Salad and the No-Bake Yummy Balls. (Don’t worry I’ll post the recipes when I do.)
Oh and they have a lot of recipes to make your own sauces, like, Sweet and Sour Sauce, Best Ever Ranch Dressing, Oo-la-la French Dressing and many more.
Here are a couple of recipes I’ve tried thus far.
And the Baked Blueberry Oatmeal.

Using Greek yogurt in recipes when possible.
ReplyDeleteI like using sugar substitutes and make a lot of things from scratch, it's amazing how many calories you cut just by not using prepackaged items.
ReplyDeleteUsing less gravies and sauces
ReplyDeleteEating less of the starchy sides and trying to fill the plate with veggies!
ReplyDeleteGlad they've included homemade sauces/dressings recipes!
ReplyDeleteLove the use of more fresh ingredients.
ReplyDeleteWe save calories by trying to eat mostly in season produce, every thing tastes better when its fresh!
ReplyDeleteUsing greek yogurt instead of sour cream, using skim milk, eating more veggies, especially baby spinach leaves!
ReplyDeletedefinately fill up on fruits and veggies!!
ReplyDeleteTaking a beautiful salad for lunch just about every day! The different colors and textures make me look forward to my salad and make it easier to turn down lunch out.
ReplyDeleteJust found you on pinterest! Love the bees in your picture! I'd love to win this book!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for this book, doctors said to start eating better and to cut out certain foods. I can't wait! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOne thing about GBP is that the recipes are great for using everyday items yet if you happend to not have an item in your pantry substitutions are quickly adapted in the recipe.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to cut calories is to include more veggies in every meal.
ReplyDeleteGreat give away!! I agree with Michelle, add more veggies. Also, I try to grill more especially on my George Foreman so the grease drains off of the meat.
ReplyDeleteI use less sugars or salts!
ReplyDeleteI can never have enough cookbooks, so I would love to add this one to my collection! :) Since I have Type 2 Diabetes, I have to watch what I eat. To reduce calories and make healthier meals, I use spices rather than salt to season foods, I seldom use sugar, I cook plenty of vegetables, and I broil or bake foods rather than frying.
ReplyDeleteI try to eat only natural foods and move at least 30 minutes a day; sometimes that means doing squats while I brush my teeth or walking lunges when moving about the house, but hey, it all counts!
ReplyDeleteThank you soooo much for the give away! I really enjoy Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks! I have about 10 in my collection and this one I do not have so it will be a great addition!!! My family and I will enjoy trying out the new recipes!! Gail Slagle
