Tackle It Tuesday (part 1)

Here's what we're doing. My husband and I both share an office. So that's 2 desks, 4 bookshelves, storage on the walls etc. Basically this room had all the walls covered with something. It was starting to get real ugly here the last couple of weeks. I didn't even want to go in there any more. We use our office for our business, homeschooling books, sewing, my son's crafts etc. There is a lot going on in this room. But first let me take you back to the beginning......cue flashback music......Okay this room started out as an office, then a guest room, then my son's room then an office again. After we get finished our desks will have been in every room of the house except our bedroom lol. What we plan on doing is putting our boys back in this room and using their room, which is bigger, for our office. The way we came to this conclusion is that they are never in their room. Only to sleep. They don't "hang" out in there or play in there so we decided that they can not "hang" out in a smaller room. Sound good? Yes! So we are doing a room swap. What does this entail? A LOT! We completely emptied the old office and then had to repaint the walls. They still had my son's fish theme all over it lol. My husband was like getting all sentimental and I said "come on, let's git er' done!" Can you tell I'm over it ha ha! Are you ready for some pictures? I know you are so here you go.
This is sort of a before picture. At this point we had taken out all the book shelves and everything off the floor so we could rip out the carpet. Oh yes I said ripping out the carpet! When we do something we go all out and overboard my friends.
Another lovely angle just to get the full effect!Yes there are 2 desks under all that mess!
Oh and just because we didn't think we had anything better to do we decided we would go a head and paint the little hallway. You know since we had the white paint out and all. Contrary to all the pictures we really don't enjoy painting lol. Here is a lovely picture of everything that came out of that little room. We had to pack most of it in boxes so we could stack it. Good gracious, where did it all come from. I didn't even know we had some of that stuff, which in turn is why we need more space lol. I need to be able to homeschool effectively and knowing what books I have is half the battle ha ha!Let's see, does it look any better from this angle.............Uh no!
This is what the room looks like right now. The carpet is ripped out and it's painted. My husband is going to sand down the terrazzo and then buff it to bring out the shine. Then we will lay down a throw rug that we just bought at Wally World.
Those of you that are frequent readers of mine (and if you aren't you should be lol), you will remember that I tackled this room a few Tuesdays ago. This is where we are putting our new office. So we will be ripping out carpet and painting this room too. That's the Part 2.We'll see how far we get this week and I'll be posting our progress next Tuesday!

Thanks so much for sticking with me.We are accepting offers of help for anyone living in the East Coast Florida area! Wouldn't this be a fun vacation? We'll get you into Disney for free!!!!!!
Blessings my friends!

  5. Yes, pics of my brain would be a mess! Very unorganized!

What a tackle you have going on!! You will feel GREAT once it's all finished though! I can't wait to see pics of your new office! We recently moved our "office" downstairs. It was up in our cramped bedroom. We could barely walk in there! I like it much better down here. It's roomy and the kids can follow me to play if they want. Happy Tackling! I need to get moving on mine, lol!

  7. What a huge tackle! It's looking good so far. We had a bedroom like that too--first a guest room, then our boys' room, and now my office and boys' playroom. It seems this room is always the messiest in the house. Hmmm, I really should tackle it...again...later! :)

  13. Oh my, you are a glutton for punishment, but I sure admire your spunk! Giving a clear "purpose" for each room is half the battle of organization. Hoorah for your efforts and I know you will be MUCH happier with the room switcheroo.

  15. Disney for free? Sign me up! LOL That is a great tackle. Both rooms were so cute when painted for your boys. They must be growing up now, though. I love the fish theme. But it looks more grown up and professional now. Good luck with part 2 of this amazing tackle! You could be a TV show!
