The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY...October 20, 2008...

Outside my window....as always it's still very dark, still and quiet. My favorite time of day!

I am thinking .....about how my coffee is still over there in the pot and not in a cup right here in front of me!

I am thankful for.....the friends we had over yesterday. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and fun.

From the kitchen....I am making granola bars today.

I am wearing....my red pajamas AGAIN, that say Happy Hollydays lol. I really love my Christmas pj's.

I am creating.....a new nightgown out of some of the flannel I bought at the after Thanksgiving sale at Joanne Fabrics LAST year. Also see above. I think I need a new one.

I am going....to the gym today.

I am reading....The Fast Track Detox Diet. I am going to loosely follow this to more so lose weight then detoxify. But I have done it to the tee and felt great afterwards but that involves giving up the bean juice and I just don't want to do that right now. Especially since the weather is starting to feel a bit more like fall.

I am hoping....that my kids don't wake up early today as I have a few things to get done this morning.

I am hearing.....the wind blowing through the palm trees out side. I can't wait to open my windows in a couple hours and get some of that fresh air.

Around the house....I will be homeschooling the kidlins and doing my

daily duties.

One of my favorite things...quiet time in the morning. It just starts the day out on the right foot.

A few plans for the rest of the week..... I'm going to help my husband with the cottage out back, finish night gown, look at my Christmas books and start planning gifts to make and make my meal list for Thanksgiving.

Here is a picture thought I'm sharing....these are the stairs to my grandmother's old house. When we made our trip to Maine I was able to go inside once more. Though the place was gutted because of a remodel, these stairs still stood and the guy was wonderful for letting us walk through and take all the pictures we wanted. I ran up and down these stairs a thousand times as a kid. Slipped and hit my shin and got the biggest goose egg you've ever seen in your life, lol. I love those stairs.

Blessings to you.

  2. I am throwing open the windows again today as well. I opened them last week and hubby complained he was hot (plus he woke up all congested) so he turned the a/c back on. Not only do I love feeling the breeze come in the windows, I love knowing our electric provider isn't going to collect as much money from us for usage. LOL

  7. I just found your blog, and had to comment...I see nothing wrong with wearing a Christmas nightgown all year long. My husband sings Christmas songs year-around, though, so maybe it's just me. :o)
