FoodMatters DVD Review

We received this film the other day and watched it. We find that we need to watch it again and take notes just because of all the wonderful information in it. If you've ever been concerned about your health and what you eat etc. This dvd is for you. They have a website that has the trailer and all the information you need to check it out and see if it's something you'd want to invest in getting. This is something that I definitely wanted to share with you because we Americans walk around sometimes in a daze and believe the lies that we hear from our doctors and such. I'm not downing doctors but sometimes they blindside you with one-sided information. This dvd brings out the importance of nutrition and what pharmaceuticals are doing to us.
I hope you go check it out at FoodMatters.
Hugs.

  1. Kimmy,

I'm waiting to see if my Dad wants me to go to TN with him but if not, I'll want to look into this. My mind feels a bit scrambled this morning...I know we have seen and read some things about nutrition and its importance but I'm not sure if it was this.

Hugs to you, my friend. Happy Saturday!!

  2. This looks really, really interesting. I will probably watch on-line soon. I have always hated the use of pesticides and such but one thing that really gets me down is how expensive "organic" foods are! We are a family of five on a very tight budget so sometimes it's just downright hard to eat healthy, which is so, so sad.

  4. Interesting. I find myself maybe standing in the middle of all this. I know there are families out there that REALLY suffer with malnutrition and eating wrong.. just look at the Biggest Looser show.

But as someone that does her best at putting good things on the table, I think I've seen stuff like this DVD that makes it all sound so doom and gloom (not saying this one does). They scare you into thinking it's horrible.

Do we as Americans have issues with this? Yes, but I see us learning from it. Like with the popularity of Dr. Oz and the Biggest Looser - who have people learn how to eat right and such.. I do see us learning.

I look forward to hearing more of what you think about this DVD..

Sorry to ramble on..too much time on my hands I think - or the cold medicine I'm on.. LOL.

    Love ya!

  5. Another interesting DVD is called Super Size Me. It was made by a guy who only ate McDonalds for a month (3 times a day), and the health problems he encountered as a result. It was an eye-opening documentary, just as I'm sure this is. We in the Western world are definitely overfed...but undernourished...a direct result of our affluent, junk-food eating lifestyles.

Blessings and hugs to you, dear friend,

    Patti

  7. Thank for the heads up on this Kim! It's funny, I just posted one on getting the body healthy. My hubby & I talked about it the night before, now you have a post about this very subject! Hmmmm.

  8. Sounds interesting, my friend. I have to keep taking baby steps in this direction. Each year, we do a little better, I think.

  9. Very interesting. I'm taking small steps in improving what I eat but still eat a lot of the wrong foods. I know, for instance, processed foods aren't good for people with my condition and I know some of what to stay away from...I need to learn what to gravitate toward. I want to live a long healthy life as long as I'm here on earth (not only for Steve but to keep up with the grandchildren) and make my body a good vessel for Christ. Great post!
