Soooo...what are you saying?

I admit, I love my morning coffee. It's a good thing all around. I usually have it before the kids even get up, but what's been happening lately is I've been sneaking an afternoon cup of coffee when the kids are awake. I think I may have snuck one to many. I found this on our water filter the other day, made by my 6 year old son.

I'd like to find a mug that size! There's my one cup for the day! YES!
Oh if is were just that easy. I thought this was hilarious and a bit disturbing! LOL. What's he trying to say here? What should I make of this? It's kind of funny. We aren't "drinkers" so we don't have beer or wine in our house, but we treat coffee like it's an alcoholic beverage. LOL. The conversation goes something like this. Them, "Can we have some coffee?" I respond. "No!"
They respond. "Why not?" I respond "Because!" They respond. "Because why?" I respond. " Hey does anyone want some chocolate?" I know I could go into the whole "caffeine" thing with my 6 year old but I don't think it would do any good. Distraction is key right now!
What's funny is since I've been sick I haven't wanted any coffee. I mean ewww! It just doesn't taste right. Nothing taste right. I'm only eating to stay alive right now LOL. I had to ask my family the other day if dinner actually tasted good because when your nose is clogged you can't taste very well. As I'm sure you very well know.
Well there's my rivating story for you today. I can't wait to have coffee this weekend!!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm anticipating being better can you tell?
Have a great day my friends.
BIG Hugs!

  2. That is hysterical! I never realized until now,I treat coffee the same way! I have recently just cut down my coffee intake and can competely relate! As for the "nothing taste right" boy have I been there! You will have to make sure you drink your "first" cup of coffee this weekend in your Favorite "show & tell) mug!

  3. OH I love my coffee, too! That is too funny! I have been in and out of the habit of drinking afternoon coffee. Sometimes I really need it. But now I am nursing and if I drink it in the afternoon, baby girl gets it in the evening, and nobody sleeps! I promise, if I could get away with it, I'd drink coffee all day long!!!!!
Thank you God for making coffee beans! They are the best! Ha ha!! :)

  6. First sweetie - I hope you are feeling better soon!! I know what you mean about not wanting coffee while your sick.

I too find myself wanting a little extra coffee in the afternoon, so I've been making myself herbal tea to fend off the cravings.. it has worked so far.

    Get well soon :-)

  9. That is so cute!! I guess he thinks coffee is pretty important to you - LOL! My son can't stand the smell or taste of coffee and he says that I am obsessed with it. Funny thing is that I only like flavored coffee that doesn't have too strong of a coffee flavor!

I really hope that you are completely better by the weekend. I'm not sure that your hubby will like kissing his valentine who has tissue stuffed up her nose! :)

I finally got my post up for today, so you can come back now, my friend - LOL!

    Have a fabulous afternoon!!

    Hugs to you!

  10. Someone told my chickies that drinking too much coffee dehydrates you, which they translated to "takes water from your body" so every time I have a cup they FREAK out. They think I'm being unhealthy and am going to die on them. It was funny for awhile. Now it's just annoying!

  11. Heh! Heh! Heh!
    That's absolutely priceless!

Funny, I love the smell of coffee, but never really liked its taste. My caffeine, when I did caffeine, was tea, Pepsi or RC. I kicked the habit twice. The second time, it stuck. I'll sip a little Pepsi or tea once in a blue moon, but I refuse to get hooked again.

Hope your taste buds are back to normal by V-day! Have you been taking your vitamin D and olive leaf extract? Got yogurt?

    Have a JESUS-flled day! ^i^

  12. Well I've never had my kids leave me a picture like that, but I love me some coffee! Today while out grocery shopping, hubby and I bought the full half-gallon of half & half. We usually buy the quart, but always seem to run out a day or two before I shop again, and I'm getting tired of running out for cream. I told him that if we go through that carton before next Thursday, then we have GOT to cut back on our coffee consumption!! LOL!

Now I have to try to find something funny for tomorrow....!

    Blessings!
    Maria

  14. Hello precious sister Kim,

I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. It seems to be going around....the world! Wow, pretty much everyone I know is sick.

Well, I'll be including you in my prayers for healing.

I think it's really sweet of your precious son to draw that picture and tape it to your water cooler. Those pics are definitely keepers. ♥

    Bless you sweet friend,
    Sunny

  15. Hope you are feeling better and can enjoy your coffee soon. Cute picture too. My kids love coffee...but the way I drink it is not really coffee. Triple cream, flavor and sugar. Yum. LOL

  16. Oh, how I love that boy!!!! I like my coffee iced, so maybe I should just put mine in the water cooler! Yeah, that's it!

Keep taking care, sweet Kim. Maybe coffee doesn't sound good to your body because it wouldn't be the best thing to help it get well...you know? Or maybe your sweet son saw you drinking lots ofwater while you're sick, and he thought he'd make you feel better by drawing coffee on it...dunno.

  18. Hi, Kim...hope that you are feeling much better! Thanks for visiting me and leaving such a sweet comment.

Before I had my sinus surgery I lost my sense of taste and smell...Coffee was the most ghastly smell on the planet! Thank goodness my 'senses' have returned to normal (at least I hope that this is normal! haha!)and I can enjoy a cup of coffee now and then!

    Take good care of yourself!
    Blessings and joy,
    Susan
