I learned me some things this week!

I managed to once again learn a few things this week that I thought somehow might bring about world peace. So here it goes.
I learned that......
1. ..getting to bed over 2 hours later and getting up at the same time is hard. Very hard.

2....if they would have left the St. Augustine Lighthouse right where it was originally it would still be there and not washed out to sea.

3.....you can't leave cooked brownies in muffin tins and let them sit there while you eat dinner, because they will become hockey pucks. Make sure you remove the brownies from the pan right away! We still ate them!!

4.....when you have to choose between homemade key lime pie or brownies with vanilla ice cream on top, you can't, so I made both!

5.....I love having company over because it gives me an excuse to make desserts. Not that I need an excuse!

6....that my Pastor and his wife have some very very interesting stories. I could listen to them for hours!! Hence getting to bed late! LOL.

7.....that no one uses the word Hence any more! Hee! Hee! I'm bringing it back baby!

8.....locking yourself in your room with your digital camera to video tape yourself feels really weird. "Hence" the video I ended up with yesterday!! LOL.

9....that while talking on the phone LONG distance your 6 year old will ask you a question that you would normally answer no to but because you are on the phone and not paying attention and he hears you "say" the word yes, not knowing it wasn't directed toward him but toward your own phone conversation, he will disappear for about 10 minutes and return saying he almost got the cat. We don't have a cat! LOL. Phew did you get all that? Major run on sentence.

10....that it feels really good to give things away. I love giveaways. I love having them.

So that's it for me this week. I'm sure there are more that learned some new and exciting things this week so head on over to Musings of a Housewife and see if you can glean!!

BIG HUGS TO YOU MY FRIENDS!

  3. Brownie hockey pucks? Yummy! Just stick 'em in a bowl and pour milk over them. Oh yeah, it's good...

  4. LOL...I use "hence"! I will also use "thus" when the opportunity presents itself :)

I finally did the "8's" too, lol. I am slow.

  5. Hilarious! So true-the kids always come when I'm on the phone-hence-I haven't been on the phone as much. Another word is thus-let's bring that back too:) I just read the last comment-she's on board too:) Sleep? What's sleep?:) Blessings!

  8. Oh my friend - I love the things you learn!! I agree - a choice must not be forced over key lime pie and brownies with ice cream, hence I am glad that you made both even though you did not share either one with me.

Hey - videotape yourself a few more times and it won't feel weird anymore. Just think of the hundreds and hundreds of people on the other side of the camera that you are talking to. :)

I love #9!!! So funny! Too bad there wasn't a little hidden camera on him that whole time to see what he was doing!

I discovered that my guest post is up at Keeping the Kingdom First, so you have to come see me there for more chocolate (link is on my blog) 'cause I like making you chase me around the web - LOL!

No, I do not have to give the DaySpring things back! Woo Hoo! It was all due to twitter! I will give away a few things actually!

OK, gotta go and help my Dad. I have been worthless so far this morning.

Have a fabulous day and big mystery cat hugs to you! :)

  9. Great list and my, my...you've been busy again this week. Plus, you almost had a new pet! LOL!

I hate that you can't get the same amount of rest in a shorter time frame...it's just not fair!!!

    ((hugs)) and Happy Tuesday!

I have just started reading your blog and I love it! And after watching your video your voice plays in my head as I read. Your style is so charming.
I totally agree with #1 and I have experience #9 on a smaller scale. No pets made their way into my house but my 3 year old did polish off quite a few jellybeans.

  15. Oh, bring it back, baby! I love that word. Hence, the rest of your post was a hoot, too! I laughed all the way through. Of course, it's getting close to 5:00 and I'm braving traffic by myself today...I crack myself up.

  16. I can relate to number 5, except that I find it gives me an incentive to clean house that I otherwise lack.

  17. I'm surprised no kids came knocking while you were filming. And I fully expected you to say - to Mr DeVille, of course - that you were ready for your close-up. 8-}

You should package those brownie pucks. Bet you could make a mint. Yeah! Mint brownie pucks, LOL!

    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  18. I also love having company and you reminded me to do so again soon! If they offer though, I usually have them bring the dessert. it's not my specialty. :)

  19. You've been a busy gal, and not sleeping enough.. LOL.

You know the perfect cure for hockey puck brownies is vanilla ice cream heaped on top. It soaks right in and still tastes great :-)

  20. Boy I am really curious about that cat thing....you need to investigate a little further and report back. I am a little concerned about who might be missing a cat!!

  21. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. I am laughing about the Ferrari. I'm going to imagine I'm driving a sporty SUV instead of a minivan.

All your talk about brownies... giving me a craving.
