It just keeps coming!

The lessons just keep coming. I guess you just never stop learning. But why do most of those have to be learned the hard way? *sigh*

This week I learned that.....

1. you don't want to go to a major wholesale club after it's been raining for 5 days straight and it finally clears up enough to venture out and EVERYONE has the same idea as you do!

2. if your two boys are in their bedroom "playing" it won't be long before someone is "crying".

3. rain is nice but it get's old all day after day and then when it stops you realize that now you have to mow the lawn. *sigh*

4. when you see the first mosquito of the season it won't be long till you'll be eaten alive by all it's relatives!

5. a kids movie can make you break out in hysterical laughter. (Horton Hears a Who- He's on the bridge! That's all I'll say!)

6. when you take your boat out on it's "maiden" voyage after your husband has been working on the motors for 6 months, is not very enjoyable. It's stressful!

7. your friend can tell you something that she could only tell "you" and you almost throw up from laughing so hard.

8. you can't roast a marshmallow with a magnifying glass. (I was bored) Though you can burn a hole clean through it and it smells really good.

9. it has to be hotter than you think to fry an egg on the sidewalk. (I was REALLY bored)

Do you feel more enlightened? Well you should. Those are some good lessons up there. I'm saving you heaps of time! You're not going to know what to do with all that extra time you have now. You might have time to leave a really amusing comment about something you learned this week! Yeah! Enlighten me my sweet friends!
If you want to see what others are learning head on over to Musings of a Housewife!

Have a most excellent day!!

  3. I can fully agree with 1-7. But 8 & 9 can't say I have done. The maiden voyage we did it with 4 children. We were silly enough to do it again.

Love number 2 - happens lots in our house.

    No mosquitoes in Ireland :)

  7. Oh I had a house full of mosquitoes here yesterday as we were moving the new washer and dryer in and had to leave the door open. My husband and son ran around the house sucking them up with the dustbuster. Quite amusing to watch :) I am totally going to try the marshmallow thing!

  8. Dern, now I'm gonna have to go buy marshmallows. õ¿õ

Try some Burt's Bees repellent for those skeeters. It works for yellow flies. OK, there's my lesson for this week. Put on the repellent BEFORE going outside. ẅ

I'm all confused this week... kept thinking yesterday was Saturday. And today must be Monday, coz Duller went back to work... right?

    Love ya tons, sugar pie!
    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  9. Gee, thanks, Kim...you just ruined my vacation for the summer! We were coming to Florida to GET AWAY from the mosquitoes. LOL!

Now you have me very curious about the egg and marshmellow...hmmm...think I'll try it myself this summer in the lovely Arkansas heat!

    Have a great day!

  11. I love that you were bored enough to try cooking an egg and a marshmallow!

#2 is the story of my life right now, too.

  12. I laughed at #8. I learned last weekend that you can roast a marshmallow over a gas stove but it cooks VERY quickly so be ready with that graham. :-)

  14. As usual, you learned some good stuff my friend! Though I actually did some of my own learnin' this week! Wow - I'll have double the knowledge now. :)

I.do.not.like.mosquitoes. They LOVE me - they will hunt me down and find the one little piece of exposed skin to bite. Then I get a big red, horribly itchy welt. Not fun. And most unattractive.

You are cracking me up with the egg and marshmallow! Don't go starting any fires!

Sounds like you are having a great smart start to your week! Big take-cover-here-comes-Kim-with-a-magnifying-glass-again hugs to you! :)

  17. My oldest daughter is just the type to try frying an egg on the sidewalk-we'll have to try that and wait for a hot day and lots of time:) chocolate is still on it's way-the first batch was eaten while i was getting a box together and have been having migraines (not from the chocolate).
