This time a REALLY mean it!

As some of you know, I'm not getting any younger. No really it's true. And those of you who aren't getting any younger right along side me realize that losing weight gets a WHOLE lot harder the OLDER you get. Am I right? Yeah, you bet I'm right. I can't say that I'm unpleased with my appearance completely. I mean my legs and arms are pretty toned and look good but for some reason the fat cells in my mid section decided to have a party and stick around. I can't get rid of them! They are like the unwanted house guest and I want them gone. What does this mean? Well, and this is gonna hurt, I need to stop eating the extra sweets like ice cream, BROWNIES, Snickers, Almond Joys, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and cake. Yes these are my weaknesses and the reason for the unwanted guests. That is the only thing I can figure that is stopping me from losing weight. Because other than that I cook from scratch and eat healthy and I exercise at least 5 times a week. With that said, I will not deny myself completely as I would probably go insane, BUT it will be limited to get-togethers, birthdays and certain holidays. This is big in lue of my past posts about me eating chocolate and brownies and such! I love sweets and this is going to be hard but I'm pretty over it and I think my determination is stronger than my love for chocolate! Well at least we'll see.
I'm going to be putting my menu together with calorie counts and such with it. If you are interested in this little journey of mine I will be posting my progress on my cooking blog. I hope to lose at least 10lbs by Christmas. That's not a very hard goal, so we'll see!
Okay there! It's in writing. Set in stone! No turning back unless I hit the delete button before I hit publish..................NO, I'm gonna do this!
Thanks for putting up with me my friends and don't forget about Friendship Days this week!

  1. I just found you blog and think it is great. I just added you to my list.

I'm a thin person but when I do start gaining weight, it is always around my midsection. I excercise five times a week, too, but it just isn't enough to get rid of that muffin top. So I started doing push ups, leg lifts and sit ups about three times a week and my midsection has decreased significantly. I don't do sets, I just do as many as I can of each of those three things. Just thought I'd share what has been working for me! Have a blessed day.

  3. I would LOVE to lose 10 pounds by Christmas as well.
I need to cut the sweets, but they are just so good. I'm going to join you, though. No more desserts unless there is a very specific thing to celebrate...I could get broad in that definition, though :)
No, I'm going to stick it out!
    Thanks for the motivation.

  4. Oh my friend, I know what you mean! I KNOW you can do it!! If I, total lover of all things sweet & chocolate, can lose over 5 lbs in 4 weeks (5.4 - yay!), you can most definitely lose 10 by Christmas!! We can help each other be strong!

Looking forward to a great week with you!

Big mid-section-fat-party-is-over hugs to you! :)

  7. There's a book out called Let's Do Lunch that may be an inspiration/motivation to you. The man who wrote it, lost a lot of weight, but the principles in it are excellent!

  8. Nothing like a little accountability, right? Good for you. Sweets have been my stumbling block too. Gosh, they just taste so good. But they have way too many calories.

  10. I am feeling the same way!! I would rather not feel this way especially since it is bathing suit weather. I am with you on this one. I have not been in a great excercise routine, and have started back regular exercise and hope this helps. Jackie

  14. I'll be praying for you. Leaving sugary treats behind is so hard but it does work. I only treat myself about once a week. But I used to LOVE desserts. It's so hard to do but you can do it. Once you start seeing results.. it gets a lot easier!!

I bought a bikini ( just for backyard purposes) this year for the first time in YEARS... it's fun to be in just for my hubby.. and it's all because I just said no to sweets... LOL..
