Good Golly!

Does anyone remember me saying something in a recent post in regards to only making and eating desserts on "special" occasions? I remember saying that sometime last month and thinking, no problem! Then came the month of July. It's going something like this:

July 4th BBQ - Homemade Chocolate Cupcakes with butter cream frosting and Key lime squares.
July 6th Missionary friends come over for visit- Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies
July 7th- Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies for breakfast! *sigh*
July 8th Mother-in-Law's Birthday- Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter Frosting
July 9th Today- Left over cake for "breakfast" LOL. (I have a problem!)
Then there is a small gap and then it picks up again.
July 17th Lunch with Friends- ALWAYS involves dessert especially when it's for my birthday!
July 19th Going over to Debra's to Celebrate Birthday- She better have something that involves chocolate! LOL
July 20th Actual Birthday-Going over to Kathy's for a Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Cake (Yeah, I know!)
July 21st- You know the drill by now. LEFTOVERS!!
July 22nd Celebrating my birthday and my friend's birthday at the gym! LOL. Sounds counter productive doesn't it? I'm making Peanut Butter Pie! Thank the Lord there will be no leftovers there.
July 26th-29th Blogger Friend Jennifer and Family come to stay with us. I don't know what I'm making yet but you know I HAVE to make something. Probably my yummy Brownies!

Do you see what's happening here? I sabotaged myself by saying ONLY special occasions. They are now popping up like daisies. I'm going to have to do double time at the gym!
Oh I'm so weak when it comes to the chocolate! CHOCOLATE!!! Do you hear me? LOL. Are you laughing at me yet? Well you should. I know what you're thinking. Better me than you huh? Yeah, I know I know!
I just thought I'd do a little post and pre confession as it makes me feel slightly better! *sigh*
Did you like the way my birthday got spread out over the course of the week? Yeah, I didn't even plan that! *snicker snicker*
Oh and you're welcome for the visuals!
BIG CHOCOLATE ALL MONTH LONG SIZE HUGS!

  1. Chocolate is a powerful force, but you are working out so it's okay to have a treat. Love the breakfast menu :)

  2. You're not alone. I started weight watchers on Monday and since have pigged out on rice krispie treats and cookies and cream bars. Hopeless!:-)

  3. Ok, Girl...you've got a problem! lol

Now, the problem is you have too many friends that like to share their special days and holidays with you. It's really not your problem but theirs...you just got sucked into the chocolate fest with them. And being the good friend that you are...you don't want to hurt their feelings by declining. Now do you? That would be my story and I'd stick to it. lol

As for the brownies...you will be Roger W's BEST FRIEND...but you won't have to worry about having leftovers cause he will eat them all. Key Lime...that is Tyler's all time favorite. As for me...not much on chocolate...thank goodness or I'd weight 250 lbs.! But, oatmeal raisen cookies, cheese cake...yum, yum! I am the saltaholic one of the family. Probably 20 of the 40 that I am trying to lose is water from all the salt that I eat. I know...it's not healthy!

Thanks for the laugh this morning. I needed a good chuckle before starting my work day.

    Counting downt the days!

    ((((hugs)))

  6. Oh Kim, life is rough, ain't it? At least we have made a pact to only bake a "sweet" on 2 out of 4 of our get-togethers!!! :)
    Gotta start somewhere. :)

  9. Enjoy your special Birthday day/week....I'm not a big chocolate person but boy o boy your photos in this post are very tempting.

Now if you were talking about chicken wings and hot sauce w/ranch dressing then I'd climb into the photo (smile).

    Blessed Birthday to you!

  11. Even when you laugh virtually, it's in double chocolate code (snicker, snicker)!!!

    Just eat as much chocolate as you can til it oozes out your nostrils and eyeballs.....then you might successfully kick the "habit" (initially)! ( > ;

  12. I am cracking up right now, because I could not for the life of me remember who I was supposed to be accountable to for the "desserts on special occastions" thing.
Needless to say, I have let watching "So You Think You Can Dance" become a special occasion. I need help too!

  13. Concerning the leftovers for breakfast, there is nothing wrong with you. If there is, then I'd have to admit that there is something wrong with me as well...and I refuse to do that!

    smooches,

  14. I'm getting very hungry reading this post. Sweets are my downfall. Sometimes, just a little tiny bit of chocolate satisfies the craving. I never was tempted like this until after menopause though. What's your excuse? LOL.

  19. Look away, look away. Sorry that was my brain saying that. We now return to our regular commenting...

Oh, my goodness! If you want, just send it all here. LOL! ;)

  20. I typed you up the longest cleverest comment for this post on my phone yesterday, but I see it didn't go through.

I shall try to recapture what I can...

If you wanted to take over my blog, all you had to do was ask instead of constantly talking about chocolate! LOL!

I think you have a few free days that you might be able to squeeze in a bit more chocolate. My hubby's birthday is this month so you should have chocolate for that. I'm on a trip - another good reason for you to have chocolate. My sister's birthday is this month, so that would work too.

You just keep on eatin' chocolate 'cause I'm going to come up with a revolutionary chocolate diet. I see no other way. :)

    Big dripping-with-chocolate-hugs to you!! :)
