Today I am going to share some very important photo taking tips for when you're IN the picture.
I would have loved to have blessed you with actual photos of the what not to do's but it would have taken me all day to put together. Besides, I'm not real sure I want "those" pictures displayed for all to see! You know what I mean?
I'm sure you'll get the idea and may have experienced some of these yourself.
How to never take a bad picture.
We all have them. The pictures we wish we could burn or take over. But today I'm going to give you some pointers that I have learned over the course of my life as a result of hundreds of bad pictures taken of myself.
And just because using bullets make me feel smarter, I'm going to use them here.
- First, if there is a camera present you have to have your guard up at all times. Here is where you have to use the eyes in the back of your head. Be Alert!
- NEVER eat while in the presence of a camera. Chewing food pictures look horrible! Trust me on this one.
- Having a birthday? Skip the blowing out of the candles picture. Go for the before and the after, but by no means let anyone take a picture of you while blowing. Uh, uh! Don't!
- Never blink! You don't want to look like you've been out drinking all night with a mid blink picture or that you're sleeping with a full closed lid picture. It's just bad!
- Avoid the "fat arm"! This is when your arm is pressed up against your body and makes your arm look fat. Always have hand on hip at a 45 degree angle to avoid this. This is for pictures that are standing and posed.
- To lose 10lbs instantly, don't take full front pictures. Stand with your upper body just slightly turned to the right or left. Oh, it works!
- Ladies, NEVER and I mean NEVER hold your arm straight out from your body unless you have some seriously tight triceps. Gravity is not your friend here!
- Well there you have it. I hope you have found some new tips on having a decent picture taken of you. Because if you are like me, you have WAY to many bad pictures and not enough good ones.
- Better yet, be the one with the camera!
- Feel free to share your own tips that you might have that aren't listed here.
- Happy Friday my Friends
I completely agree about the chewing food and pictures -- so awful, but darn if that isn't always the time people are pulling out cameras!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim... I'm writing w/ a cat on my lap... oops, he just left. Phew!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I like the angled pose. And blowing out the candles, a no no... yep, a bad idea.
Happy Friday Funnies, and thanks for hosting. :~D
Oh I have had the FAT arm picture taken all too many times of me. I hate those. Wish I could chop my arms off.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mimi
LOL, all good tips!
ReplyDeleteThese are GREAT photo tips! Ahh, what we've all gone through to be able to relate to every single one! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! So funny you mentioned these. Dd took some pics at a surprise bday party. Lots of food in mouth ones that weren't pretty. LOL!
ReplyDeleteLOL! It's funny because it's true:-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful tips!
ReplyDeleteAh - good tips my friend! Of course they don't help my past pics!
ReplyDeleteIt makes me laugh - my Grandpa LOVED to take pics of food and relatives eating! We watched slide shows of his pics a few years ago and he would have 10 pics of the food on the campfire and then 10 more of people with forks to their mouth - LOL! It's a joke on that side of the family that you MUST take pics of the food & people eating them or you have not truly captured the occasion! :)
Big but-will-these-tips-make-me-look-like-a-model-and-like-I've-lost-50-lbs hugs to you! Busy day - gotta get goin' - have a SUPER day my friend!!
I personally prefer the idea of being the one with the camera. :) It avoids all kinds of terrible "me" pictures. Besides, kids are WAY cuter!
ReplyDeleteThose are great tips and so true, too! I would add one more. Make sure that you look to make sure there aren't any objects sticking out behind your subject's head. Those can be pretty funny sometimes.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI feel like you really "captured" some of the best picture taking tips for all of us women who always seem to have pictures taken of us when we look our absolute worst.
Stop by when you can, I miss seeing you.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
LOL...I can relate!! hahaha
ReplyDeleteI'm the one with the camera...always and forever!
Thanks for sharing these truths!
I'm always the one with the camera!
ReplyDeleteLOL I hate my arms in every picture that I have ever had taken. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Many I have found to be true. I agree with the one also, always be behind the camera!
