It all started one rainy Sunday afternoon. Church was over but a handful of us found ourselves "stuck" inside because of the downpour that was going on outside. Our Pastor used this opportunity to break out one of his favorite games, Blokus.
I had never heard of Blokus. But quickly fell in love with it.
It isn't hard to learn at all. And it's oh so fun!
I set out to buy it and it has become our favorite family game. We actually just leave it out all the time so we can grab it often, to play.
Even our youngest (5) has caught on and plays quite well.
I found a great review on it if you would like to learn more about it.
It's really really fun and doesn't take a long time to play.
What's your favorite family game?

We like Yahtzee:-)
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteRight now I would have to say Pictureureka would have to be our family favorite since it's easy for all of us to participate since it's a scavenger hunt and all ages can play.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
I love card games of any kind! But, I'm gonna check out your game. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun game to find and play.
ReplyDeleteAs a child, my favorite game was Life. I loved the little car that you'd poke your peg people into and loved driving my car over the little hills and having babies along the way It so impressed me and I loved that game.
Another favorite was Candy Land. One game my kids loved as little tots was a game from Discovery Toys called Hurry Home. We still have that one because both kids loved it and asked me to keep it for grandkids many, many years in the future.
I enjoy playing Phase 10, UNO and Farkle (with real dice). I love family time at the table.
Unfortunately part time jobs for kids and homework have interrupted a lot of game time, but we try to squeeze a game in any chance we get.
Later,
Jamie
If we're with my Mom, we always play Uno or Skipbo. But as a family, we love the game of Life. It gives us all a chance to become someone else and make up all these crazy names and life scenarious. It's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteWe love to play games here! Our new fav is Phase10. We like Clue, Sorry, Life, Uno, Boggle, Scrabble...I'm sure there are a few more I am forgetting!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check it out. Right now we are beating Uno to death. To DEATH. But it travels well, and keeps the kids occupied, so I won't complain.
ReplyDeleteI passed a "Sweet Blog" your way today. Thanks for letting me be your friend. :)
Perfection....we only play when going to grandparent's house. I feel like 8 years old again, and my kiddos just roll their eyes. Well, they're always rolling them...but even more so when mama challenges them to beat her at this fine motor skill game!
ReplyDeleteI love playing games.... Blokus, Uno, Spoons, Skippbo, Monopoly, Yahtzee... my favorite is when we can get everyone in the family to play.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE games in our family. Some favorites are Rummikub and Scrabble. And, of course, Apples to Apples or Taboo when we have a bunch of friends over.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Blokus, though. It sounds like lots of fun.
Have a great day.
Love,
Patti
What out, don't play it online, you'll get hooked!
ReplyDeleteOh I will have to check this out :) Our favorite is Quelf! IT IS STINKIN HILARIOUS! Also NERTZ! love that game!
ReplyDeletegoing to read that review now!
love ya
I don't think I've heard of this one. We love Phase 10, and we also like to play "Pigs." We just play lots of different games, some of them I can't remember their names as the kids introduced them to us.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this one...but it sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteWe need to find a new family game. I need to go find that one!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't played that but it sounds like fun! We play Trouble a lot because it's fast. I still love Monopoly and we enjoy Scattergories, Life, Sorry and card games.
ReplyDeleteBig love-a-good-competitive-game hugs to you! Hope you had a super day my friend!
We LOVE Apples to Apples. But I would like to try this one I think! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of that one. We like to play Ticket to Ride or Quelf. :D
