Little Man turns 5!

Mom, this post is for you!
(And for anyone else remotely interested in my son's birthday! LOL)

We got a phone call yesterday asking us to take a lot of pictures since Mom and Dad are back in Maine and couldn't be here. And since I try hard to be a good daughter, I'll do my best to oblige.

We always like to do "family" parties and so we invited our closest family over which happens to be my best friend and her husband. We love them just like family and are so glad they came. It meant the world to us and I know Little Man was glad they came as well.

Well let's get right to the important stuff.
Here's the cake!I opted to go easy so I made my chocolate cake (which he requested with little to no coaxing) and then drizzled a raspberry chocolate glaze over it. EASY but so good!

Here are the party attendees!
My best friend and I!
It's a party, and where there's a party there's party hats!
And in this case, lots of them!
You have to love this man and I'm so glad my best friend does! LOL!

Here's my sweet hubbalicious.
Oh honey you look so cute! I just wanna kiss you! But I guess I'll just wait till you get home today. * What was I talking about? Oh yeah, the birthday party*

And last but not least, my beautiful children.
Notice my daughter perfectly posed, my oldest son being, well, himself and the birthday boy paying no attention AT all.
Yeah that's about right!
So we ate dinner and then played some party games. For whatever reason we didn't get any pictures of us playing pin the tail on the donkey, which is always fun to watch adults play. LOL!

Then it was time for cake!

Is this not the most precious 5 year old ever? Love him!

And this, my friends, has got to be THE cutest picture of ANYONE, EVER, blowing out candles.
Because I said not to long ago that no one looks good blowing out candles.
Well this picture has proven me wrong once again.

He quickly devoured the cake and quickly asked for another piece. Oy!

Next came the opening of the gifts.
I want you to see the priceless expressions on this little boys face!
I love this one.
Completely filled with anticipation. Here was completely thrilled with each and every present he opened!

The sweet part about all this is that, my 7 year old had put a lot of effort into going through his dresser and picking out just the right shirts and pajamas that didn't fit him any more and carefully wrapped each one and gave them to Little Man for his birthday. And Little Man LOVED it. It melted this Momma's heart and I think his Aunt Kathy's too!

Speaking of me, I had to quickly show my son how the game of Perfection was played!
And I quickly remembered how frustrating and "scary" this game is.

So Uncle Mike gave it a try.
And didn't do much better than Momma! Hee! Hee!

Hang in there. Almost done I promise.

We decided that it was beautiful outside and so set forth to play some games in the yard.
Everyone was playing their own thing.
Kathy and I were playing badminton (I'm sparing you the pictures of that!)
The boys played baseball and football.
And my hubby ended up in our palm trees!

And when everyone went home and the night finally came to an end, my precious little Man decided that he wanted to wear the hand me down pj's that his brother had lovingly given him for his birthday.

It doesn't get any better than that!

Have a great day my friends and if you read all that, I got to hand it to you! You do like me! LOL!

  5. If your little man was about 20+ hours closer, then he'd be invited to my little man's birthday in a few weeks! I think they'd hit it off well.

    Beautiful family memories!

  22. I love the blowing-out-the-candles picture! That's some serious concentration going on there. Happy Birthday to him!!

We had a birthday, too, this week. My middle guy turned 11. He opened a few gifts, but we're saving the rest along with the cake to do once my husband gets home. With no other family around to help celebrate, we need all the members of our little family present to do it right. :)
