Just Another Sign of Aging!

I wear these every day. Rain or shine! I love em'.
They're contacts. I wear them 90% of the time I'm awake. I'm near sighted which means I can't see far away clearly. In fact it's darn right blurry!

These are my glasses for when I'm not wearing my contacts.
I usually wear them in the morning before the contacts go in and at night after the contacts come out. I may on occasion wear them out, but not to often. (Although my hubby thinks I look hot in them! Hee! Hee!)

These are the newest additions to my little "help me see" collection.
These are READING glasses. Cause I can't read certain things up close , like the extremely small writing on the back of vitamin bottles or the entirely too small writing on labels. It's funny, (not really) but I don't remember the writing being so small years ago. I'm pretty sure they're using different font that's messing with my eyes.
Yeah, that's it. It can't be my age. Nooooo.  And yes, you see 3 pairs there because although it hasn't happened yet, I'm pretty sure as I get older I'll forget where I put pair 1 and pair 2 and rely heavily upon pair 3 to be close by! That and they came as a 3 pack at Sam's!

Have I mentioned my chin hairs? LOL!

You can relate? Can't you?!

  2. Oh my darling, I can relate! I have reading specs in every room of the house (Dollar Store glasses); I have chin hairs & hairs on my big toe and sometimes even on the underside of "Left Boob"! I have a mustache that I keep groomed IF I REMEMBER TO LOOK AT MY FACE WITH MY READING GLASSES! Otherwise I walk around like some pre-pubescent 12 yr old male! Oh! The indignities of aging!

  4. I LOVE this post! I, too, have the contact, regular glasses, reading glasses. HOWEVER, my supply of contacts ran out and it's not in the budget quite yet to replace them so I'm wearing my regular glasses. I VERY MUCH DISLIKE wearing my regular glasses on a daily basis. HATE IT! Can't wait to get new contacts again...even if they need an extra boost with the reading glasses :)
Peace and blessings to your day!

  6. I've had glasses forever and can't see much at all without them. My hubby had to start wearing some "old man" reading glasses a few years ago due to old eyes they said. Now he has graduated to one contact, which I think is weird, but it works. What I am wondering is if our eyes are "old eyes" when we are in our 40's, will we be blind at 60? LOL

    Love you my friend!!

  7. I really want to know why nobody warned us about all these *aging* issues! I don't need the reading glasses quite yet, but I will say that I was trying to read the color of a tube of makeup on the bottom with super tiny print and I almost couldn't do it - horrible feeling! I'm sure it will be soon for me!

And don't even get me started on the chin hairs...

Big if-we-must-age-then-we-shall-do-it-with-plenty-of-humor-even-if-nobody-else-is-laughing size hugs to you!! Have a super day my friend! Love ya!

  8. I'm with Kathy...model those babies! We know you are not camera shy! Come on!

And you are far too young to be wearing readers. Thanks for your encouragement on my blog today. And I've never thought homeschoolers were...what you said...ya'll are awesome and we seriously debated homeschooling our girls but felt the Lord leading our family in a different directions. I admire you, girlie!

  9. Well, I don't wear glasses or contacts, but I have my own issues of aging...like the 20 pounds that would have EASILY come off 5 years ago that won't budge now, no matter how much exercise I do.

    Grrrr....it's SO frustrating!

Hope you're having a lovely day.

    Hugs,
    Patti

  10. LOL, you are the snowball at the top of the hill, lolol!!! The guys laugh at me, coz when I'm on the computer, I wear reading glasses WITH my regular glasses. Duller calls me 6-eyes, lol! They don't laugh, though, at my threats to embarrass them by doubling up in public. I'm thinking maybe new glasses for Christmas. There's another aging 'perk'... uber-practical Christmas gifts.

    Love ya loads, granny glasses!
    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  12. Welcome to the contacts and reading glasses club! Ah, I think I keep about 6 different pairs scattered all over the house! And those bifocal lenses do NOT work at all, so don't even bother with them.

  14. Uh, oh! See what I have to look forward, too.. Unfortunately, I'm not that far away..

  15. I need to find me some of those glasses. I've just been pushing it off. Sigh.

And I don't have chin hairs. I have big toe hairs. My boys think it's gross. But who wants to shave their TOES?? They're just gonna have to deal with it. Lol!

  19. I just started wearing contacts a little over a month ago. I wear multi-focal lenses because I'm far-sighted and can't see squat up close, well that is until about 6 weeks ago and I woke up and everything was blurry. Called the eye doctor friend from church and he popped a pair of these in my eyes on the spot. I wear Air Optics multi-focal. I was surprised to see the words "check engine" on my dash. All the time it had been on, I thought it was just an orange light. Didn't know it had words. With the contacts I've gained up close vision. I can read vitamin small print and can see mail or magazines or computer screens. Now the distance is a little fuzzy now, but my eyes just gave out, I guess. We'll see how this goes. They are 30 day contacts, but he wants me to take them out every night. Sometimes I get them first try, sometimes the 45th try. It's easier some days. I keep working on a technique. Short fingernails is a key help in it.

    Take care, friend!!!

    Jamie
