How’s the House Going?

This has been a busy two months for us. Selling a house, buying a house, moving contents of house, vacation, Christmas, birthday’s and the list goes on.

There is so much I’ve wanted to blog about but I just haven’t had the time.

So here’s an update on the house.

This is what our garage looks like as of 5:25 am this morning.

Isn’t it just lovely? The good news is that MOST of those are my husband’s. Good news for me but not so much him. Oh don’t worry I still have my fair share mixed in there but for the most part those are boxes that hold most of his workshop stuff and garage stuff from the other house. This home didn’t come with a workshop so that’s on “the list” of things to build. But until then, I’m afraid our poor vehicles will be staying the cold winter nights outside.

This is one of many gallons of paint still waiting to on on the walls.

We have not had a chance to paint anything yet!  Which now with all our furniture in the rooms is going to be very challenging. That and 20 foot ceilings that we’ve never had to deal with before. Oy!

This is our computer.

What’s the big idea with that, you ask? Well the fact is, it’s in our bedroom right now. I don’t want it in our bedroom. I want it in the room that we call our office, but our office doesn’t have a phone line in it and my hubby is having a hard time trying to figure out how to get a phone line in there because of the way the interior walls are built, because of their height. *Deep Breath Kim*

Did I mention that the “deep” cleaning that I wanted to do when we moved in never happened? No, well it didn’t and it’s still waiting to be done. Don’t get me wrong, things like the kitchen and bathrooms got done but the windows and floorboards and all the doors and floors still need a good deep cleaning on them.

But I’m not one to focus on the negative so let’s look at the bright side. The Lord has blessed us mightily with this home and we think it’s beautiful. There are no “major” problems with it. We are eating, drinking and sleeping in it in comfort and my family is happy.

So there you have it. Anyone up for coming over to paint and clean? I’ll make coffee! LOL!

HAVE A FABULOUS DAY MY FRIENDS!

HUGS!

  1. I followed a link over from orgjunkie's comments about the bookcase she found for her kitchen.
How exciting to have so many projects ahead of you for the dull winter time!

  2. If you lived in GA, I'd be right over...helping others organize inspires me to go home and do it myself. :)
    Happy Thursday!

  3. All of those things take time, don't they? And it seems like there is never enough of that. :) You know I'd be there if I were just a few hundred miles closer!

  4. Hey Kim...we ran the cord up the inside of the wall..via the attic...then ran the wiring in the attic and down the wall via attic into the room were it was needed. It is a little time consuming..but his is the best time of the year to crawl around in the attic..lol
You use a piece of eguipment Electrician use to fish the wire up and down into the walls.I can do it..you can do it!!
Looking forward to all your new adventures there in the house..and of course a garden!!!!!!

  5. If that coffee can be a latte with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles, I'll be right over. And I'll bring my own supplies.

PS - I find it interesting that your hubby has his own Smores Maker in the garage! But perhaps he's more in touch with his feminine side than most men I know? I'm just sayin'.

  7. Sorry I can't come help my friend! But you should know that you are doing VERY well for so little time in your new house - don't be so hard on yourself. It takes a long time to get everything organized and done. Just do a little at a time and don't stress. :)

As far as the computer, have you guys considered wireless? Then you would just have the router in the bedroom and the computer could work on wireless in the office. Or they even make a wireless phone jack that could plug into an outlet in the office.

I want a virtual tour of your new house - as is. I don't care about paint colors and boxes and deep-cleaned baseboards. I just wanna see what the place looks like - LOL!! :)

Big you-know-you're-too-busy-when-it-affects-your-blogging size hugs to you!! Love you my friend! Have a super fantastic joyful day! :)

  10. Pace yourself. It will all happen in due time...well...except for maybe the garage (hee hee). Glad to hear, though, that you are happy and comfortable in your new home!
Peace and blessings to your day!

  11. I remember when our garage looked like that too after our move. It took awhile but we worked on it as we could and then one day "voila" the boxes were gone, the garage was clean, and the vehicles were singing their praises and so were we!! Love having my van in a garage! Can't imagine not having that luxury in my life again. LOL What a baby I am!! hahaha

I am with ya in spirit girlfriend! enjoy it and just take one day at a time...you don't have to have it all done so quit putting pressure on yourself! the longer it takes the more calories you burn right??!! :)

  13. I know how frustrating it can be! You want all the confusion and upheaval to be OVER! *Snap* and it's gone! Ugh.

On the computer link-up, have you considered getting a wireless router setup? You can get it all done for less than $100.

And as far as the deep cleaning chores, I think I would be sorely tempted to hire a cleaning service to get it done and overwith. That way you can get going on the other projects. Just a thought!
