Repurposed Valentines Pillow!

As most of you know I’m on a repurposing kick. Moving has caused me to look around and see what I have and where or for what I can use it for. If it doesn’t have a “purpose” it’s out a here.

So the other day I had an itch to sew something. Nothing major, just something. What’s the easiest thing to sew on the planet? Yeah, a pillow. It’s so easy I didn’t bother giving you a tutorial because, it’s a pillow people. Four almost  straight sides, some stuffing, done! It took me about 3 hours. Just kidding. Maybe a half hour total.

I didn’t want a lot of great detail with my pillow. Remember I wanted to do something quick and easy and something I would actually finish. So I scoured around and found some leftover shiny red fabric from my 40th party (hard to work with but I used it anyway) and some old off white curtains that weren’t going to make their way back on the wall in our new home (sorry).

I cut out a heart, sewed it to the top of the pillow. Then I stitched, stuffed and closed it up and this is my final product. Perfect? Far from it but I thought it was cute. I’m going to make another one to match.

Last year I made this pillow, remember?

I hope this inspires you to look around at what you have and turn it into something fun. Let me know if you do. I’d love to see it.

HUGS!

  7. Seriously? That's so cute! Between your post and Kathy's post how can I not be inspired to do SOMETHING today that uses a little creativity? Although I have no idea what that is! Maybe I'll color a picture in one of Faith's coloring books? NAAAAHHHHHHHH!
    Peace and blessings.
