I Used To Get Comments!

As I was going through past posts trying to organize them so they are easier for you (and me) to find, I started reading some and realized I used to get 15-25 comments a day on average. What’s going on? Have I gotten dull? Have you outgrown me?  Have I lost my zip? I know! You think Blogging is so 2 years ago and only FB now?

I still leave comments. Granted I can’t read everybody’s posts every day (but I do look)and if you have something one day that tickles my fancy then I definitely stop, read and comment.

I admit that since we moved I’ve lost a little bit of my groove, but I’m starting to feel it again. The ol’ wheels are turning once again and the Zippity Do Da song is ringing through my brain.

The fact is, I miss you gals. I always said that I have the best commenters in the blogging world. You are always so full of insight and wit! I read every comment and you always seem to bring a smile to my face! I just wanted you to know that.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

  1. Nope! Not me, Kim, I am still here! I think a lot of it has to do with sumer events/lives. In the winter when we are
'trapped' inside because non-conducive weather, we blog more. What is really annoying is to comment often & not have reciprocal courtesies given.

Have a beautiful week, my friend ~

  3. I've been off my game lately. I read all the blogs on my blog feed (even yours...) I just can't formulate anything to say. :( I still enjoy your posts, I just... I have 'comment block'. It's related to 'writer's block' I think their second cousins?

  4. The same thing has happened with my blog, too! But, in my case it's totally my fault. I've not been a regular blogger since last year.

I do think a lot of people are on fb more. It's faster, I guess. I dunno. Anyway, I just want you to know that you have NOT lost your zippety-do-dah! ;-)

    Hugs...

  6. Kim,

I notice it too on all my blog posts. Funny thing is that my stats don't reflect it, so it tells me people are stopping by and not leaving a comment. At least they are still coming by. Plus I've noticed since I've linked my posts to my Facebook page, people are reading just not posting a comment.

  7. For some reason google won't let you post comments from most computers. I can from my ipad, but not my computers...They have to be disabled somehow and I don't know how to do that.

  8. It has happened to my blog also. A lot of it is my fault so much going on personally. That my blog is not being updated I havent even been reading blogs. I keep up with you and couple others due to FB link since I have the FB app on my phone otherwise I would totally fall out from the loop.
I have noticed that when I read blogs from my phone if your blog has secured comments it willnot let my post. So I usally will post on your FB link to the blog. or not at all.

  11. Since we read lots of blogs, we use a reader all the time. We don't get to comment enough because there are so many blogs, so little time. We DO read your blog though!

  12. I may not check the blogs every day or week, lately, but don't think that I don't care, because I do. Things are just super busy and home computer has been on the blink. I'm using my daughter's right now, or I wouldn't be peeking now. Hang in there and know that when you start seeing frequent comments again, that'll mean I have a working computer again!

    Hugs to you,
    Jamie

  13. I don't always leave comments, since alot of your posts have photos, and unless I'm on the laptop, I can't see photos.

    Anyhow, love you!!

  14. What are these comments you speak of? :) I think plenty of people are still reading my friend, we have to just not worry about the comments - they'll start up again someday! Also, wondering if you saw a drop in comments when you started up the word verification? It puts an extra step and I know of a lot of readers that just won't bother and it sounds like it doesn't work from phones which is where a lot of people are reading from these days. Hold on though - I'm gonna test it from my phone (Droid) after I leave this comment.

Big comments-on-your-blog-are-like-the-caffeine-in-your-cup-of-coffee-they-get-you-going-and-put-a-smile-on-your-face size hugs to you!!! Love ya! :)

  15. Ok - this comment is a test from my phone. Let's see if it goes through.

  16. So I was able to do the comment from my phone, but it was REALLY hard and I definitely would have given up if I wasn't doing a test. When you go to type in the word verification, then you can't see the word anymore, so you either have to keep going back and forth or memorize the word first. Just so you know!

And you might want to make your blog easier to read/see on phones. Got to your Settings; Email & Mobile; then select Yes-show mobile template on mobile devices.

That's all my brain can handle for today my friend! But hey, look at how many comments you have now - HA!! HUGS! :)

  17. I read your blog every time you post, and I apologize for not leaving comment luv. I am trying to keep up with like a Kazillion blogs that come through my reader. I am trying to do better :)

  18. Sorry it took awhile for me to figure out how to comment. I get your blog on my email and I didn't' realize I had to go to your page for the comments to work. I subscribe to other blogs and its not like that. Thanks, your blogs are awesome and even though I don't comment I really enjoy reading what you have going on. Thanks

  19. I understand what you're saying about lack of comments. I've noticed the same..but I admit that I've slacked some on my posts lately.
I apologize for not commenting as much as I should...something else I've slacked on lately!
    Have a great week!!

  20. I sometimes read but not comment on OP blogs. Depends on what I feel I've got to contribute, I guess.

  21. I still love ya, LOL! I've noticed a drop off in comments too, but don' t know what is going on. I won't get into Facebook, so folks will either give me feedback on my blog or not!

You might want to drop the word verification because the spam filter really works great!

  22. Well, you know I'm still here, lol! I usually read you on my reader. I have also discovered that I can read more blogs if I leave less comments, haha!

My comments have dropped too, but they've been down quite awhile (as has my blogging, haha). I used to get 15-30 a day, but my comments went down when my commenting on other blogs went down. So in my case, I think the two went hand in hand.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, Kim. This was a successful comment test! You already have 22, if it doesn't slow down it's going to leave your 15-25 estimate in the dust! :)

  24. I understand how you feel! I wonder if anyone is even still reading my blog; granted I did have to stop writing for a while, but...no way have you become dull!

    smooches,
