The other night was the perfect weather to sleep in a tent, under the stars. No no no, not me silly, them. This was my husbands rodeo, not mine. I couldn’t sleep that close to my bed and not be in it. Can I get an Amen?
They threw caution to the wind and braved the wild, known as our backyard and had a great time.
I snuck out there periodically to snap some pictures. (The word “snuck” cracks me up. If you say it enough times you’ll start laughing to yourself.)
Here they are getting ready.
Hellooooo out there!!
They ate good too. Burger, hot dogs and beans. YUM!
Happy Campers!
Camping isn’t camping without a campfire.
The next morning the kids helped cook some bacon and eggs. I snagged myself a piece of bacon after I took this shot. Oh, you know you would have done the same thing. It smelled soooo good! But seriously, Honey, you look so CUTE in your camouflage outfit. Hee! Hee!
I bet you’re wondering what my daughter and I did all night while they were camping? Well what do girls do when they have the opportunity to be alone? We watched a chic flick and ate popcorn. LOL!
Well there you have our tales of adventure!
Have a lovely day my friends!
Did you bring Brad a cup of coffee in the morning? Or did he have to slow cook it over the fire? :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like they had some fun! :)
Camping is a lot of fun, sadly Michigan weather has put a stop to camping for us!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! I would have stayed inside with my girls too.
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely not into camping anymore...and I was never into camping in a tent. However, I am a very prissy female, and those are rough and tumble guys, so I know it is right up there alley.
ReplyDeleteI think Brad is an awesome daddy!!! He really enjoys his kids and does so many wonderful things with them. What incredible memories he is making with them.
Have a great day.
Love,
Patti
Amen for indoor bed! Also for chick flick, popcorn and a stolen piece of bacon! Where do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteLooks like the boys had fun. And I think maybe the girls did too. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh so fun, we let the kids camp out all Summer long, Love having a HUGE army tent so I can have just 1 kid in the house.
ReplyDeleteMaking memories, nothing more precious than that,
In HIS Keeping,
Mrs.B
AMEN!! I was raised with parents who thought camping meant the Holiday Inn!! My husband is a camper from way back and we've been a few times, but if it were in my back yard, I would have to choose my bed. It looks like this was a great experience for your family!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh what a great time everyone must have had!! smile... especially you girls...those chick flix and popcorn sounded like the best!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings...
xoxo Gert
What a terrific idea for the guys to hang out and make some memories! And I would have snagged some bacon too, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAwesome memories! We did this last summer and the kids had just as much fun in our backyard camping as out in the forest. I made it half the night in the tent before I caved and crawled into my own bed ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a blast!! What awesome memories for your boys! All 3 of them ;)
ReplyDeleteHow awesome....Girl time, no uninterrupted time, and no bodily noises coming from any boys LOL
All sounds soooo heavenly :)
What a huge yard! I had to laugh at how far back into the "wild" they went. My guys pop the tent 10 feet from the back deck and call it good, Lol!
ReplyDeleteAnd I do the exact same thing. No WAY I'm sleeping in a tent when my bed is yards away! Very sensible, my friend. :)
I'm totally with you, sister. My hubby used to do that with the kids and I always slept in the house, lol!
ReplyDelete83 degrees? I'm sitting here typing and my hands are freezing. And it's not even as cold as it's going to get this winter. Send me some heat!
It looks like they had a great time! I'm with you, though. I want to sleep in a real bed. Thankfully my hubby feels the same way ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you my friend!
Oh the CUTENESS my friend!!! Looks like the real camping experience to me! I bet they had so much fun!! I do love camping - even tent camping, but if it was in my backyard it would be hard to stick to being uncomfortable when comfort was so close - LOL!
ReplyDeleteBig you-know-the-campout-is-official-when-the-camoflauge-is-present size hugs to you!! Love you friend! Now really - I'm surprised that you didn't have a camping competition and see whose camp setup (I'm picturing a pink tent with a black sleeping bag for K) & food was the best - LOL! :)
