This Weeks Round Up! 11-26-2011

As with most people, this week was a pretty busy week.

We had a VERY Happy Thanksgiving. I brined a turkey for the first time and we all LOVED it. I will continue to do that from now on. I was in the kitchen most of the day and when it was time to eat, it was devoured in less then 20 minutes. *sigh* But it was worth it to fill those happy tummies! We also realized that it was our 1st Thanksgiving in our new home. In just a few days we will have officially been here 1 full year.

Thursday night my BFF Kathy and I braved the crazy people of  Wal-mart and set off for our Black “Friday” deals. We got there about 9:45 pm and I was home in my comfy bed by midnight. I never actually made it to Friday. LOL! Oh the irony. People were crazy but I never go with the intention of getting everything on my list. I go for the pure excitement of it all. All and all we had a blast and I came home with some seriously great deals on things my family needed.

This year, I’ve done my Christmas shopping a little differently. I think I’ve done 70% of it online and I love it. Just about everyone is offering free shipping right now so why leave your home to fight the crowded streets and stores? I’d much rather sit in my pajamas, sipping coffee and shop.

My hubby got the Christmas decorations down from the attic yesterday. So it’s go time. Let the games begin!

This year we will be decorating our gingerbread houses Thursday the 8th of December. (Yes, I actually plan the day in advance. This is serious business here. LOL!)  I hope you will be around for the ever exciting voting process.

Well I guess that’s it for now!

I’ll leave you with some pictures from Thanksgiving Day!

Busy” cooking!

  1. I'm glad you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Sounds lovely! Would you believe, I don't even know what you are talking about...brining a turkey? Obviously, I have never done that...or even eaten it that way.

LOVE the photos! But I have to tell you, I'm jealous...shorts, sandals, green grass, trees with leaves...sure wish I still lived in Florida.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Love,
    Patti

  2. Sleeveless shirts and shorts on Thanksgiving? It's just not right, LOL! I'm so glad that you had a wonderful thanksgiving at you NEW HOME! Yes, I remember that you moved in a year ago. You are now making new memories!

Well, you didn't actually shop on black Friday, but you DID participate in the madness! You are a braver woman than me! We don't do that much shopping anymore, so it is a hundred times easier to shop online.

What I am having trouble getting over is you guys celebrating Thanksgiving a month later yet than Canadians do....

...and you're still wearing SUMMER CLOTHING!!!! No fair. :P

  4. I'm glad you had such a nice Thanksgiving :) :) I had to laugh at the picture of your dog. My dad and I recently moved into my aunt's home in California. We're right on the ocean :) :) In any case, her dog is a professional beggar and is always sitting right next to the person who has the best food ;) :)

Have a lovely weekend. Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
