Not to long ago my bestest and I went to a paint your own pottery place AND completely forgot to bring a camera. *sigh* But that’s okay because I have a picture of the finished project which is really all we need anyway.
I had never been to a paint your own pottery place before and had a hard time picking something to paint because there was so much to choose from. But as I was looking around I started thinking how fun these things would make as gifts. You could personalize it to people’s interests. They had plates, cups, bowls, ornaments, different characters and figurines etc. If you could think of it, they probably had it. Hence the reason why I had such a hard time choosing.
But even though I thought they would make great gifts, I chose to do something for myself. Yeah, I’m good like that. I mean I had to make sure they would turn out in gift quality fashion don’t cha know.
So here’s what I made.
I painted them to match my kitchen decor’ and I just love them. No they’re not perfect but I think they came out cute and fun.
The second thing I made was for my own personal Christmas tree I put up every year. For those of you who don’t know, my tree is white with red and white ornaments on it so this will be just perfect. I think I’ll make a different one every year. Wouldn’t that be fun?
I put the year on the bottom.
You could totally do this for a baby’s first Christmas or for a couple’s first Christmas together etc. I’ve got your imaginations running wild now don’t I? Good, because I know you’d enjoy doing it.
If you have one of these pottery places around you, I highly recommend you try this out.
What fun things do you like to make for gifts? Do tell.
Love and Hugs,
Kim
