Today’s Harvest!

I love picking produce from our own garden. It’s so inspiring, so fun, so wicked cool.

Today we harvested our first round of green beans and lettuce. We (hubby) planted 4 types of beans. We have bush, wax, purple and dragon tongue. I LOVE the diversity of them all.

We are still getting tons of brussels sprouts and jalapeno’s are in abundance. I may have to make jalapeno poppers before the season is over. Tomatoes are on their way out but our zucchini and cucumbers are doing great. We should be harvesting them next month.

I tell ya, with my husband being laid off I appreciate our bounty now more than ever.

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by.

  1. Yum..what a great harvest Kim! I've just replanted for autumn/winter here in New Zelaand...and the rain has finally come after months of drought. I swear the vegie seedlings have grown overnight!

  2. Wow! I sure wish it was time to start harvesting from my garden, but it's still too early to start planting here in Ohio. Would love to have fresh eggs as in your photo as well!

  4. Oh, so jealous! I was finally able to pick some spinach and baby chard yesterday. I was thrilled! Tomatoes are on their way out? I can't even imagine!

  5. Wow! Looks great!
We are currently building some hydroponic systems since our dirt was infested with root nematodes. My hubby is VERY excited about doing this.. at this point I'm the research and info part of the project. LOL.

  6. Awesome! I agree that there is nothing like picking something and eating it for dinner just a few minutes later. Although, we don't have quite the bounty you have! You must have a lovely garden.
