My First Massage

I was just talking about this with my best friend Kathy and the lady at our gym so it's fresh on my brain, so I thought you might get a kick out of the story. It goes something like this. My best friend Kathy over at Blessed Beyond Imagination decided one day that it would be a good idea if we got massages "together". She had gotten them before but I had not. So for Christmas one year our husbands got us both massages. I was like cool, that sounds great. So she makes the appointment and off we go. After explaining for 15 minutes that our "HUSBANDS" got us the massages, and we thought it would be fun to do them "together", we were on our way in what they call the "COUPLES" room . Now you know why we felt the need to explain things. So we strip down to our undies (something you can only do with your best friend lol) and cover up with a sheet that they have placed on the tables. That's when things started to take a turn. I just think being in a strange room with "mellow" music playing with your best friend is funny, but I tried to contain myself as it's "supposed" to be relaxing, right? Well it only took all of about 5 minutes into the hour massage when I couldn't contain it any longer. My view was the floor and the occasional shoe of my masseuse. It's when I started staring at her sneakers and wondering what brand they were that I lost it. And let me tell you I didn't "find" it until the hour was over. I felt bad for my friend because I'm sure she really wanted to "relax" but it just wasn't going to happen for me. I have a tendency to think certain things are funny and this was no exception. The massage therapists were of course loving it because they usually don't get to say much at all but I had them both cracking up. You can ask my friend and she'll tell you that my laughter is contagious so she was sucked into my little world within minutes of it's start. So with watering eyes and greasy hair we left for lunch lol. We had greasy hair because of the oil they have on their hands when they massage your head. It's quite a unique look really! Well there you have it. Just another thing about me you probably didn't care to know ha! ha! You should hear about the time we went when I was 7 months pregnant. Now there's a story!
Blessings my friends.

  1. My friends know better than to take me anyplace like that. They've learned... 'we can dress her up, but we can't take her out'. 8-}

  2. I can't say that I have ever gotten the gigglies during a massage, LOL! I tend to fall asleep! I know exactly what you mean about the greasy hair, and I head straight home afterwards. You'll have to confess the other story now!

  3. Ok, I just don't think I could do that with my best friend in the room. There might be safety in numbers, but I just don't think I could relax either. But I do want to take my mom and two sister in laws to get a pedicure. That should be a blast. That is about as much clothing I would ever get my mom out of !!!!!

  4. Oh, this is too funny! Remind me NEVER to get a massage with you when I come to visit your beach, I mean you. I am the type to take in every stroke, praying in thankfulness with each breath. I only wish I could have them more often than the every few years or so that I get one. But that's why they call it a luxury. A LUXURY, KIM!!!! Luxuriously lavishing in complete laughter does sound fun, though. Maybe I'll try it sometime when my best friend is giving me a neck massage... ;)
