Thankful Thursday-Warning Serious Post from Me

As I was sitting here wondering what to write I am reminded of a post I read yesterday about a little boy who drowned in a pond. To read more about that and how to cope with loss go here for a great post. Tears streamed down my face yesterday as my heart ached so badly for this family and their loss. So today I want to thank the Lord for my 3 beautiful children. I pray that I never take it for granted that they will be here forever and enjoy them every day I have with them. I am so guilty sometimes of just going through the motions of the day and not "really" spending that quality time with my kids. Sometimes it takes a jolt like yesterday to open your eyes. So I am making it my priority to spend more time "really" being with my kids and paying undistracted attention with them. God has blessed me with my 3 treasures and I need to treat that as such while I have them.

Blessings my friends.

P.S. For those of you who wanted a demonstration of the thing I posted yesterday, I will be posting that later on today. Prepare to be amazed lol. Oh yeah and don't forget to have your funny joke or story ready for tomorrow! Remember laughter is good medicine.

  4. Children truly are a gift from above! And I can relate with your post how sometimes it takes a tragedy to remind us of how precious our time with them is!

  5. I so agree with what you say. All too often, we don't really enjoy the time God has given us with our children. We tend to push them out of the way so we can have "me time." They grow up so fast, and the time we have with them is SO short. So let us make the most of the time we are given. (This is the biggest reason for me disengaging from the computer. I was ignoring my sweet children or wanting them out of my hair so I could do my blogging. I've realized I would rather enjoy my children than enjoy the computer.)

    Lovely post.

    Blessings,
    Patti

  6. I too love my children more than anything in this world. They are 24 and 27, and the sad thing is they are out on their own and don't seem to need me any more (except for money once in a while!) Why do they have to grow up and drift away? I miss my kids so much and wish they were still here with me. I am thankful they are grown, and I am proud of them as adults, I just miss them. One is 6 hours away and the other almost 2 hours away. Why can't we live in the same town (state) and see each other every holiday, and even once a month on the weekends. I MISS MY KIDS!!! Someday they are going to understand how I feel!

  11. Amen to that sister. :) They grow up way too fast, then they are gone and you wish you could play shutes and ladders just one more time. :)

  14. What a sad tragedy. My dh has been overly interested in the Caylee Anthony case that's all over the news. He finally said last night it was really getting to him since our little one is near the same age.

Children are such a wonderful and joyous blessing. You have a lovely family!

(You asked about Green & Black's chocolate ... it's a delicious organic chocolate that you can find at the natural foods markets and Target also carries it now and often puts it on sale.)
