Works For Me Wednesday

I got this little gem for my birthday one year about 9 years ago. The conversation went something like this. I opened up the present and just sort of looked at it. I then said, "oh thank you so much." My friend said, " do you know what it is?" I said, "I haven't got a clue, lol!" So after we all got done laughing she told me it was an egg yolk separator. I thought, huh, what do I need an egg separator for? To give you some background, I wasn't the master chef back then like I am now lol. Hamburger Helper was a regular visitor in our house. But as my culinary talents started to blossom I found myself using this little guy more and more. Now a days I use it quite often. I know that there are people out there that simply separate it in the shell but by the time I get done cracking a shell there isn't much left so this guy works for me. So without further ado here is my cute egg separator. And be honest, would you have known what it was?

And as an added bonus he looks really cute sitting on the back of my stove.
The person who gave it to me has since passed away from cancer so it's always a nice reminder of our friendship as well.
Blessings to you my friends.

  3. Hamburger Helper???? Seriously? That ranks up there w/ potted meat and spam in my book! Yuck! I'm just teasing you. I never would have known what that was either.

  4. That is really really cute, and NO, I would not have known and still not convinced that it is an egg seperator. You should have demonstrated it in your pictures or video...hey, that's a thought. I just didn't get it, I need to see it more in detail, and I think I need one too.

  6. OMG! I so would have no clue either! Another idea someone sent in to Sandra Lee of Food Network is to use a funnel. IDK but any help w/those eggs works for me too!

Thx for stopping by and commenting, Ginger
