Thankful Thursday-Family

Mom's. What would the world be without them? Being a Mom I realize every day how important my role is within our family unit. Yesterday however "Mom" was unable to function properly due to a headache that came on like a ton of bricks. Everything started out fine but by the afternoon I had a headache that Tylenol couldn't touch and a nap couldn't cure.
This is where my most excellent family stepped in. My 2 youngest were a bit quieter, my daughter made dinner, and my husband rubbed my head AND my feet. I told him that I thought there was a pressure point on the bottom of the foot that would relieve headaches. I know that sounds like a line but I think there is lol. Either way he rubbed them and though it didn't make my headache go away it did feel good.
So today I am thankful for my family that rallied together when I REALLY needed them to. I don't think life could manage like that for to long so I am glad that my headache was gone this morning lol.

Blessings my friends.

  2. I am so glad you are feeling better and what a treat to get a rub down, even when you aren't feeling the greatest. I love it when Brea wants to get me a bandaid for whatever my ache may be. Have a great day!

  3. Kim,

So sorry for your headache, but the rubbing feet part is not a line...supposedly there is a pressure point down there that will alleviate it some...he just didn't find it. I think he needs to try it again! LOL

What a beautiful testimony to how your family is a team and that is because of the example you set before them each day. Kudos to you.

Hope you are better today. Happy Thursday. Blessings to you!

  4. Man are you blessed. Not by the headache of course, but I am impressed that your family loves you and respects you and value you enough to pull together when you are not at your best. You have taught them well, you have shown them love and kindness, look how it bloomed yesterday!!! Job well done my friend. Compassion is a valuable attribute.

  6. That's a lot to be thankful for! What a blessing to have family come together like that. It's a lovely reflection of your 'training up' and how much love lives in your home.

Depending on the type of headache, try squeezing the fleshy area between your thumb and index finger. It really works.

I have posted a little thumbs-up for you here. 8-]

  13. It's the big toe. And, you can also press with a thumb right between the eyes. Sad that you got the headache back today though, I hope you are feeling better now. :(
