Tackle the Moose

I have nothing mind blowing today but I hope you get a kick out of this story that I had to share.
My husband has been working nights this week so it's just been the kids and I after supper. The other night I took the kids out front to play while I sat on our front deck enjoying the fabulous weather. I got a sudden burst of energy and went running into the front yard with my 15 year old daughter now in tow. We were all just kind of standing there when my 6 year old son says , "Let's play tackle the Moose, Kelsey's the Moose." Well after I got done cracking up I thought that sounded like a good idea, so I tackled my daughter and as she was going down she pulled me down on top of her and before I could get up my two boys came out of nowhere and pig piled us. So there we are on the front lawn, one tackled Moose and 3 pigs lol. After we all managed to stop laughing and get up, I ran back to the front porch and sat down, followed by the crew. My daughter sits down beside me and my 6 year old next to her. She informs us of a cramp she has. (Normal for running after eating dinner). My 6 year old comedian says, "Kelsey's the Moose, the moose gets a cramp and then it farts." Are you laughing? You should have been there to hear him say it in just the right voice and tone. I don't know where he gets this stuff. First of all we had never heard of Tackle the Moose until that night lol. He just makes this stuff up!
Well I hope this gave you a chuckle. I have to write these things down so I don't forget them lol.
What funny things do your kids say or do?
Blessings and Hugs.

  1. My youngest daughter calls those moments of combustible tooting, "Moose calls!" Where was the camera? It sounds like a lot of fun. Blessing to you today.

  3. So funny... her is my funny kids thing for the day. My kids are 10, 7 and 9mo. old. My older two grew up watching the "baby einstein" dvd's. They LOVE them. Apparently they still love them, because they were playing so I put one on for my 9mo. old to watch. When I came back in all three were lined up watching the dvd. of the ball going down through the maze and the lava lamp doing its thing. When I asked them why they were watching a "baby" show, in all seriousness, they say... "well, someone has to make sure it is age appropriate!" busted! Their secret is out!! Have a great day!

  6. When Gabrielle was about 3, we were going home from my in-laws. We were on highway 46 and had just crossed under the I-95 overpass. She said, "Where's that road go?" I said, "To Miami." (since it was the turn to go southbound on the interstate). She then said, "What's your ami?"

Isn't that cute? She didn't have a clue about geography, but she knew that "mi" meant ownership of something. She just couldn't figure out what the "ami" was.

I think there used to be a show in the 60's, an Art Linkletter Show, called "Kids Say the Darndest Things."

Oh, and 2 of the things Garrett said embarrassed me like crazy...and he said them publicly. I won't repeat them here.

They definitely keep us laughing, huh?

    Love in Christ,
    Patti

  8. Oh what fun!!!!

One time when my 25 year old was about 4 years old, we drove by a dairy farm with black and white cows. He asked if they were Dalmatian Cows.

So ever since our family calls black and white cows, dalmatian cows. Funny how some stuff just sticks.

  10. How fun! As for my kids, recently my 15 year old woke up at 11:30 at night and showered and dressed for church. His clock had stopped and he thought it was morning and he was afraid he overslept. Guess he didn't notice it was dark outside.

My 19 yr old was so tired recently that he bought a bottle of pop at a grocery store, and set it down IN FRONT OF the groceries of the guy ahead of him. The clerk and the guy just turned and stared at my son...until my son blushed and said sorry, and took back his pop.

Why are my kids so tired...LOL!

  15. Kimmy! Hey! Loved it. Tackle the Moose.

Josh thought he found the moon every night for me when he was little...when he would see it he would tell me "Look Mommy, I found the moon for you"...we still say that!

But the funny one (he would shoot me if he knew I was actually writing this)...we were headed to church one Sunday and he and Jay are talking 'cars' and he is busting on the French..and he says they make terrible cars...and Jay says...really? which ones are French? (Josh has a really high IQ..figure we don't know something) ready? He says..you know...Chev-ro-let'..KID YOU NOT!

We busted out laughing! I guess it sounded French to him...oh my stars we still laugh at that!

    ((hugs)) to you
