My Daybook today

Since I don't have a lot of time this morning (I'm getting blood work done, Yuck!) I just thought I'd give you a glimpse in my day!

FOR TODAY Monday, November 17, 2008 ...
Outside my window.....The dawn is slowly appearing and the silhoutte of palm trees are beginning to show.

I am thinking......I can't wait to get this blood work done so I can come back and have my coffee. It was a night of broken sleep and because of the blood work I couldn't have anything to eat or "drink" for 12 hours before. UGH! I really wanted my coffee this morning lol.

I am thankful for........the coffee that I'll be able to make and DRINK when I get home! ( I know, very shallow, but sadly true LOL!)

From the learning rooms........we will be going to the library to get some Thanksgiving readers to read and do copy work from.

From the kitchen......I am making some banana nut muffins from some ready to chuck if you don't use me today bananas!

I am wearing.....Beige shorts and a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and flip flops. It's my blood work outfit. LOL. Just kidding I really don't have an out fit for this!

I am creating.....a Christmas apron. I love my aprons.
I am going.....to get blood taken in approx. 15 mins. Did I mention that already?

I am reading....."Passionate Housewives Desperate for God" for the second time.

I am hoping.....I get right in to get my blood taken and don't have to wait.

I am hearing.....the computer humming, the clock ticking and my stomach growling.

Around the house.....Everyone is asleep!

One of my favorite things.....is anticipating the holidays and the time off my hubby is getting this year.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I'll be going to the gym. Our missionary friends are coming over for dinner on Tuesday. My brother the Chef is coming over to show me and my friends a few tricks of the trade. Oh and my parents just arrived from Maine yesterday! Thank you Lord for getting them here safely.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...This is the cross in our front yard that we put lights on every year for Christmas. It's so inviting and peaceful to see when you pull up to the house.

Well that's it for me today. What are you all doing today?
Hugs to you my friends.

  8. Given that we're not in the same time zone, you've probably already had the blood work done, but since I'm just now hearing about it, I'll be in prayer about it for you. Not a favorite thing to do that's for sure!!

And shorts and flip flops!! It was 21 degrees when I woke up this morning---and 57 in my house!! No shorts and flip flops for me.

    Love you,
    Patti

  9. Kim, you sound like me with my coffee, except that I am only drinking 1/2 caf because of baby.

Oh, and the banana nut muffins will be perfect for your weekly 5 AM dues.

One more thing, I think you should do an apron giveaway - I'll be the first to enter! :)

  11. Good luck, I hate getting blood drawn. Nurses hate getting my blood too because my veins roll. It's a nightmare for someone to give me an IV, I once had an IV put in my foot because they couldn't get it in my hand, lol!

I hope you got my e-mail, let me know if you didn't get it okay.

  14. I always leave your blog wth a big grin on my face. You are too funny. The cross looks awesome. May many people who passes your house finds peace.

I hate blood work also. Because of my high cholesterol count, and borderline diabetes, I have to get a blood test every 3 months (yuck). Leaving husband and kids at home, I would leave early on a Saturday morning and don't return until noon. After the blood work, I would head to McDonald's for an egg burrito and an ice coffee. I know I am being a bad girl. Hey, we have to splurge once in awhile.

  15. Hi Kim,

Praying your blood work went well. Praying over the results.

Do you know the order of the movies in the series of Love Comes Softly?

I would like to see them in order with her.

    Thanks!

    Love and hugs,
    Jill
