Tackle it Tuesday -Christmas Apron

Well this Tuesday is a tackle in process. I'm tackling a Christmas apron this week. Here is how it's going. First off let me tell you that I'm not a great seamstress. I'm still not sure why I even try sometimes lol. I have learned to slow down a bit and "enjoy" the process though. Maybe I'm just trying to check things off the Proverbs 31 list. Ha! Ha! I've got the 21st verse pegged, since it doesn't snow in Florida LOL.Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household:.for all her household are clothed with scarlet.Wow did you see that rabbit? Okay back to my tackle.

I had to reconfigure the pattern pieces on the fabric
as my fabric was not as wide as the pattern had indicated. I'm not one to stray off the beaten path of sewing as I'm not that great at it lol. But I think it's okay so far.

Here are the pieces all cut out. I just have to mark them and take off the pattern pieces.
Here is the fabric I chose. I like it. Duh! I wouldn't have chose it if I didn't. Sometimes I write the stupidest things! I guess I could just backspace and pretend it never happened but I get on a roll and then there's no stopping me so just hang with me.
Here is what I HOPE it looks like when I'm done with it. I'll be sure to post it when I'm done. Cute isn't it?
So what are you tackling today? Hop on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to see what others are doing today.
Blessings and hugs!

  1. That apron is going to be cute. I can't wait to see it.

  2. Oh, how cute! It will look that great. I wonder if I could hot glue one?

  3. Cute is definitely an understatement! That is adorable!!! Will you make me one? I am SO NOT CRAFTY! xoxo Ang

  4. Oh what a sweet apron. I LOVEEEEEEEEEE aprons, I wish they had some good patterns in LITTLE girls sizes.

I love to sew if you have any questions just email me.

    In HIS Keeping,

  5. I love it!!! I love wearing aprons! I made a fall one with pumpkins on it once. Have a good day!!

  6. Good morning to you!

That apron is so adorable! I can't wait to see your finished product. Maybe someday I could try to take up sewing. My hubby really wants me to get a sewing machine, but I know that it would collect dust right now - I wouldn't find the time to teach myself to use it.

    Have a wonderful, blessed day!

  7. I am in awe of poeple who can sew at all because I can't. I am looking forwarding to seeing how it turns out so, good luck on that tackle:-)

  8. Very cute! I'm sure it will turn out great, especially since you said you have learned to go slow and enjoy the process. I love to sew and I try not to rush myself. I just finished making 3 little girl aprons with matching potholders to give as Christmas presents. It was a really cute retro pattern, so Modest Mama, keep looking you'll find one! E-bay is a good place to look for apron patterns including children's aprons.

  9. Kim,

I have full confidence in you! And it is adorable! I love it!

    Hugs to you, my friend!

  10. Very pretty fabric! I'm sure you're apron will look lovely when you're done.
I'm also tackling a sewing project for Christmas.

  11. That will be an adorable apron. You can do it!!! I love aprons!!!

  12. Wow, that is beautiful!!!

Hey, when you finish checkin' stuff off your Proverbs 31 list, can you start on mine? lol.

Thanks for your comment over at the Internet Cafe today, Kim. You really blessed me with your words. ;)

  13. How cute Kim!! I can sew pillows up and buttons on clothes, but have yet to learn to sew like that. hehe..

  14. That is going to look positively YUMMY!

  15. It's going to be too cute for words! I can't wait to see the finished project! LOL on the Proverbs 31 checking things off...It doesn't snow much here in Mississippi (twice in 15 years, I think?) and if I tried to clothe my family in scarlet they'd commit me, LOL.

  16. I'm tackling taking care of a three month old in addition to my two wild toddlers!

I LOVE that apron - where did you find the pattern?

  17. That will be gorgeous!!!! My hat's off to you for even trying. I mean, you don't see me tackling a sewing project, do you? So if this one turns out, maybe you could make one for all of your friends!!

  18. That is darling! I can't wait to see the finished product!
Once again, after our Disney adventure, I am convinced that I need your book desperately!

  19. Hey! 8-] Love that fabric! And the style is adorable. I haven't sewn in years, but I've been thinking about putting a machine on my Christmas list. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket first. *lol*

    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  20. If only I could sew! What a beautiful apron!

  21. That is so sweet! i love it i'm sure you did great!

  22. i like you..you're so funny! i'll be definitely following your blog...i'm sure you make a great, funny mom! GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY! P.U.S.H.

  23. This is so cute. you'll have to post a tutorial for us and let me know. I've just started sewing and I'd love to make aprons NEXT christmas. You have to post. Promise?

    good luck!
