Tackle it Tuesday -Christmas Apron

Well this Tuesday is a tackle in process. I'm tackling a Christmas apron this week. Here is how it's going. First off let me tell you that I'm not a great seamstress. I'm still not sure why I even try sometimes lol. I have learned to slow down a bit and "enjoy" the process though. Maybe I'm just trying to check things off the Proverbs 31 list. Ha! Ha! I've got the 21st verse pegged, since it doesn't snow in Florida LOL.Proverbs 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household:.for all her household are clothed with scarlet.Wow did you see that rabbit? Okay back to my tackle.

I had to reconfigure the pattern pieces on the fabric
as my fabric was not as wide as the pattern had indicated. I'm not one to stray off the beaten path of sewing as I'm not that great at it lol. But I think it's okay so far.

Here are the pieces all cut out. I just have to mark them and take off the pattern pieces.
Here is the fabric I chose. I like it. Duh! I wouldn't have chose it if I didn't. Sometimes I write the stupidest things! I guess I could just backspace and pretend it never happened but I get on a roll and then there's no stopping me so just hang with me.
Here is what I HOPE it looks like when I'm done with it. I'll be sure to post it when I'm done. Cute isn't it?
So what are you tackling today? Hop on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to see what others are doing today.
Blessings and hugs!

  6. Good morning to you!

That apron is so adorable! I can't wait to see your finished product. Maybe someday I could try to take up sewing. My hubby really wants me to get a sewing machine, but I know that it would collect dust right now - I wouldn't find the time to teach myself to use it.

    Have a wonderful, blessed day!

  8. Very cute! I'm sure it will turn out great, especially since you said you have learned to go slow and enjoy the process. I love to sew and I try not to rush myself. I just finished making 3 little girl aprons with matching potholders to give as Christmas presents. It was a really cute retro pattern, so Modest Mama, keep looking you'll find one! E-bay is a good place to look for apron patterns including children's aprons.

  15. It's going to be too cute for words! I can't wait to see the finished project! LOL on the Proverbs 31 checking things off...It doesn't snow much here in Mississippi (twice in 15 years, I think?) and if I tried to clothe my family in scarlet they'd commit me, LOL.
