Eating Healthy & Losing Weight- Let's take baby steps!

I was laying in bed this morning thinking about the 10-15lbs I wanted to lose and unless some of your are aerobics instructors or under the age of 20 you probably have a few extra pounds you would like to lose as well. But where do you start? It can be very overwhelming for some and they give up before they ever get started. The Foodmatters dvd that I promoted the other day could be very overwhelming if you let it, but as my husband always says, "How do you eat an elephant?" "One bite at a time!" So that's what I'm going to do. No I'm not going to eat any elephants but I'm going to take small steps into eating healthy and losing weight. Does this mean no more chocolate or desserts on birthdays and such? Uh, NO! I said baby steps, not downright insanity! I've taken a lot of time into researching weight loss and muscle mass and all that stuff and I'm going to share with you a crash course over the next few days of what I've come up with that is doable for the average woman. I hope you are able to gleam some useful information and help from it. I'll be posting my usual happenings as well so if you miss a day just look under the category of weight loss on the left side bar.Lesson 1-Drink Water!
Drink 8oz. of water first thing in the morning when you get out of bed. Before coffee, before breakfast, before anything. Your organs are dehydrated after going all night without hydration therefor when you drink water first thing, you are getting your organs and bowels ready for the day. It makes sense doesn't it? Can you handle that? Not to hard is it? Tomorrow will be a sample Menu for what I am going to start eating on a regular basis. How to easily implement some raw foods in your diet. Now I need to go find one of those weight loss tickers to track my weight loss.Yipee! LOL! I think having one will kind of hold me accountable. I don't plan on crash course dieting to lose drastic weight all at once as that is unhealthy, so it will be slow, constant loss. You don't ever want to drastically change your diet as it could do more damage then good. That's why I'm going to start small. I hope you stick it out with me this week. Tomorrow I'm going to be posting about Purge Week 1. Have we got a pile so far. Woo!Hoo!

HUGS!

  7. This is awesome, Kim! I love it!

I agree with you that successful living usually happens with baby steps...it's even like that in our faith. We are an impatient people, though, and we'd rather see immediate results. Doing it the patient, steadfast way is the way to go! You go, girl!
