What I Learned this week!

As I was perusing over at my top commentators blog Lisa *wink* I saw that she was participating in this fun little carnival, so as her top commentator *wink* I decided to play along.
Here's what you do.
Just write a post about what you’ve been learning over the past week or so. It can be one sentence. It can be several paragraphs. It can be serious. It can be silly. It can be thoughtful. It can be sweet and sentimental. It can be sarcastic. It can be profound. Those are the "rules". Sounds easy enough.
Let's see what I can reflect on this past week that I've learned. I'm sure as with most of my musings it will be mind blowing or mushy. I only have two extremes.

1. I learned that I clearly don't work my calf muscles enough, since after my last step class at the gym I couldn't move them for about 2 days. (yes, it makes it very hard to walk)(yes I choose to torture myself)
2. I learned that when you add chocolate chips to your coffee they don't melt. They kind of just lump into a gobby mess in the bottom of your cup.
3. I learned to look at the opposite end of the package of spaghetti to see if it is already partially opened, because when you don't and you try to open the other end, you end up with spaghetti all over the place. Makes for a fun start to dinner.
4. I've learned that I really like homemade meatball subs.
5. I've learned that my kids have what I call "suggestive hearing". They can be anywhere in the house and hear you whisper their name if it's in the same sentence as dessert but they can't hear you yell at them from two feet away when you want them to clean up their toys.
6. I've learned that if you watch a dog long enough it is going to do something really really gross!
7. I also learned that no matter what you are going through in your life you can lay it at the Lord's feet and in His strength you will get through it. (You know I had to add some substance to this post or you may never come back!)

Well there you have it. My lessons learned.I hope you are able to "learn" something from my own observations. I'm starting to think I may need to pay more attention to things! LOL. If you would like to join in this fun little carnival head on over to Musings of a Housewife and check it out.

Great BIG Hugs to you all!!

  1. LoL Kim!! I've done number 2, too and learned that exact same lesson ha ha!!!! Too funny!
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me encouraging words. My husband is the greatest man alive (ok, to me, I can't knock other husbands!)
But I'm going to post about it on My Husband Rocks Friday - aw, I may just include it right away! He is so merciful. Gosh, I really tore up our van door...hurt our car more than theirs! But, we don't have a new van or anything. It's 10 years old. It's still a huge blessing though.
Anyhoo...my hubby even took the pains of talking to the owner and her [step] mom for me. And you know what? They seriously didn't care in the least!!!!! The mom even said it wasn't completely my fault because her daughter likes to park close to my driveway and the driveways are narrow!! God showed grace on me!
Anyhoo, I'm going to share His glory on my blog about this. Thanks again! :))

Now, I just noticed your 100 things list on the side and I must go read, because I don't remember if you have done it before and even if you did, it's worth reading again! As your top commentator, I feel it's my duty to check these things out. Also, we have about the same number of subscribers - cool!
