What I Learned this week!

Another week of lessons learned
to this I can't deny
You'd think by now I'd have it right
each day I truly try.
It seems to be I am in need
of counsel of some kind
So bare with me as I recall
the lessons in my mind.

Bet you didn't know I could actually rhyme something huh? LOL. Ah yes, A woman of many talents. Ha! Ha! That brings us to this weeks lessons that I've learned.
This week I've learned.....

1. that garlic doesn't smell as good on your fingers a day after you chopped it. *sigh*

2. that all you have to do is pressure wash your throw carpets outside and have them almost dry in order to get it to rain.

3. that replacing goat cheese for the cheddar cheese in my Encharrito Casserole was a really really good alternative.

4. that I have muscles in my upper back that I obviously don't use enough.

5. that I can color apples blue in a coloring book and still survive the day.

6. that watching my Mother do the Wii fit is highly entertaining. (I'm also sure she'd say the same about me!)

7. that our old worn out windows will always tell us when a rocket is going up by rattling unmercifully. Even in the middle of the night!

Well there we are. More and more lessons learned. Got something you've learned and want to share? Well go post about it and then link up to Musings of a Housewife. Got nothing but want to glean off others? Then just go to Musings of a Housewife and visit.

BIG HUGS TO YOU MY FRIENDS!

  1. Have you considered selling your rain-making services to drought areas? Carpets, huh? Whoda thunk it?

  2. Those are great lessons! My favorite is the first one. If you rub your fingers on something stainless steel, it will help take the smell away. It doesn't work completely all the time but it does help:-)

  3. I very much appreciate you bringing us some rain! :o) It poured here during Monday's wee hours and we needed it so badly. It always seems to rain everywhere else and skips over us. We got soaked coming out of a store Sunday on our way home from church (I was wringing water out of my hair), but it hadn't rained a drop at our house.

Goat cheese ........ mmmmmmmm. I haven't had it in so long (and was just reading about it last night in The Seven Pillars of Health).

The rattling windows made me laugh out loud. A house we rented many years ago did the same thing. The first time a space shuttle went up while we were living there I freaked out. It was the wee hours of the morning and the window rattling like mad behind the bed really freaked me out. LOL

  4. Coloring things the wrong color and being ok with it is a lesson my 8 year old needs to learn, Your casserole also sounds DELIC. and my MIL on Wii Bowling sent me off my rocker with internal laughing!

  5. So...is it your fault that it rained in Arkansas on Saturday after I completely detailed both my car and Roger's truck on Friday? And, all along...I thought it was because I washed my car that it rained but it was you who washed her rugs and had them almost dry :-)

I would love to have a Wii Fit and yes, it is very entertaining to watch other do it but I would never do it with anyone in the house but me!!!

    Have a great day!

  6. Gotta love day old garlic smell on the fingers. I learned that making fresh salsa with hot peppers and then taking out your contacts, the next day when you put them in your eyes will be on fire...no matter how many times you wash your hands...but no worries, it only burns badly for about 3 seconds...then you can see clear again...through the tears. LOL

  7. Have you tried washing with a lemon? Lemon takes the garlic smell away. Watching anyone play Wii Boxing always cracks me up.

  9. Fun list. I haven't stepped on the wii fit board yet...'cause I don't want it to tell me what I already know...ouch!

  10. I'll have to remember that about the rain, LOL! Great lessons learned, Kim. I digress, though, with the garlic. I LOVE it. Onions? Not so much.

  12. Great list.

We have enough rain here in Ireland, so I am not going to try your technique!

  13. Oh my goodness, you are funny, girl! These are funny, but TRUE, and wise. The funniest things can always be found in the real moments, if you can see them. Love you friend, and big hug to you BACK!

  15. Once again I am glad that you are doing all that learning my friend - it lets me off the hook. I can just let my brain turn to mush now and rely completely on you - LOL!!

Does that mean you finally got a Wii Fit and didn't even tell me? What do you think so far? I think it takes a bit to figure out how some of the things work, and you have to do stuff quite a bit at first to start unlocking all sorts of other stuff. But it's fun! Oh great, you just reminded me that I haven't done any Wii Fit yet this week. Perhaps tonight.

oh my. I am tired. I currently have the laptop on my lap on the couch. I laid my head back and actually dozed off in the middle of typing this comment! How's that for the complete opposite of Wii Fit - LOL?? Not good.

I'm gonna go now - I think I need to move around! :)

    Have a fabulous evening!

  16. Fresh lemon rubbed on your fingers after garlic should take the smell away. :D

We had a great time watching dh's mom play Wii. She was sooooo sore afterward! :D When my parents come in a few weeks, we'll probably do some with them, too.

  18. What a cute post.
You know me.. I'm a Wii Fitter so I would have loved to do the Wii with you :-)

Rocket shaking windows. Wow. I always forget about the BOOM the sonic barrier makes and it always scares me :-)
