All About Me Week Day 7

Well tomorrow is the big day. But today I wanted to answer one last question.
I was asked about my testimony and when I came to Christ.
I'll try really hard to nut shell this one too because we know how I can get! LOL

I actually accepted Jesus as my Savior at the young age of 7. I remember it very clearly. I was sitting on my Mom's lap and she asked me all about why I wanted to be saved and then she led me through the sinners prayer.
I was a good girl growing up but then drifted away in my teens. I wanted to do my own thing and be my own boss. I always knew that the Lord was there and He still kept me from doing a lot of things I probably would have done otherwise but I couldn't say that I was following to close to Him. After I married and divorced the wrong man, my life needed a change. I met my husband now, who had only been saved for 4 years at that time. We both realized that if the relationship was going to go anywhere that we need to recommit our lives to Christ and start living in such a way as was glorifying to Him. Because of our recommitment, the Lord has blessed my life so much. I have 3 wonderful kids with whom I get to stay home with and homeschool and see grow up. The Lord has been so faithful to pull us through some very tough times in our life, like layoffs, miscarriages and almost losing my second child 2 days after birth. If we weren't grounded in the Lord while going through all these things it would have put a great strain on our marriage. But instead it drew us closer then ever before as we both held on for dear life, not only to each other, but to the Lord.
I admit, I've had some dry times. I think every Mom does. We get tired and busy and tired! LOL. But I know that regardless of those times that He knows my hearts desire is to be close to Him and He has never let me go.

I love you my sweet friends and thank you for sticking it out with me this week!
HUGS!
Oh and it's not only MY birthday tomorrow it's Mimi at He + Me =3 as well. Yes we have the same birthday. Cool huh?

  3. Kim, thank you for posting this one. I too was saved at the age of 7 but it seems I followed a similar path as you did. Although I think I was a prodigal a bit longer. But how wonderful that we serve a Savior who never lets us go. How grateful I am for that! This week was fun getting to know you better.

Would you do me a favor? When you see Debra would you give her a big hug from me? I wish I could do it in person but for now I'll settle for a hug through Kim. LOL.

    Happy Birthday Kim!

  9. Amen! Beautiful testimony to God's faithfulness and knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us!

Sometimes, He is all we have in our lives to cling to...but, He is all we need.
