Why Does Food Have To Taste So Good?

It's no secret that I love to eat. God knew this when He made me 5'12"!
Yes, I know. It's not fair! How many of you 5'5" and under just thought that? Uh huh!

The good thing is I like to cook and I cook mainly from scratch. And basically pretty healthy.

Except when scratch means this!

Oh baby!
Peanut Butter Pie!
Or these scrumptious morsels! Peanut Butter Cup Cookies!!
Have Mercy!
And then there is this. My downfall.
It's my favorite cake of all time.
Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting!
Wait do you see a trend here? Peanut Butter? Chocolate? Hmmm...
Granted these all take effort to make so I don't make them to often, BUT what happens every time around Easter?
These bad boys come out!

How do you resist them? How do you walk by them in the store with out a second glance?
How do you not eat them when your MOM comes home with a whole BAG of them?
How am I supposed to lose 15lbs when my sweet tooth has taken over my whole body?

If you have the miracle solution I would like to know!
Basically, right now I work out so I can stay the same weight I am and eat any and all peanut butter and chocolate combinations!

Any help is greatly appreciated. If you can't help, send me some eggs! LOL!

LOVE YA!

Psst! You can find all the recipes by clicking on the pictures! Shhhh...you didn't hear that from me!

  4. Peanut butter - this is where Americans differ from others - the only thing I use it for is one toast!! Ever tried Vegemite:)??

  5. You know how much baking I do? Well, I am in the middle of birthay mania right now and I have lost 10 pounds since the beginning of the year.

Just give yourself one treat a day and you will be fine:-)

  6. Oh my! I think I just gained 5 lbs! lol
Seriously, I love that combination, too. In fact, I think I need to go pick up a Reese's...

  8. Oh I wish I knew. Chocolate is one of my biggest downfalls. I'm trying real hard to limit myself to one piece a day. Right now I'm trying gum & hard candy. I'll let you know how that goes ;)

  9. Oh YUM! Thanks friend - now I'm wishing I could reach through the screen and grab some dessert!! And yes, I'm one of those 5'5" people - sigh.

You don't look like you need to lose any weight, so I say keep working out and keep enjoying your goodies!

Big peanut-butter-and-chocolate-go-together-like-people-and-oxygen hugs to you! :) Have a lovely day my friend!

  10. Kim,

Oh how I would suffer from that same fate and madness. I love both chocolate and peanut butter together so I cringe during this time of year when those infamous peanut butter eggs arise once again to taunt me.

  14. Ooooo! I love those pictures way too much. All the health gurus say that cooking from scratch is more healthy and will help you lose weight....they don't live in the south. And right now I am having height envy. At 5 foot nothing I look chubby at 15 lbs over much less mt 30 lbs I need to get rid of (*_*)

Hey I am having a Visual mystery contest over at my blog this week see if you can guess my mystery.

  19. You're killing me! I'm on a wheat-free diet right now. Oh well...I'll just close my eyes and imagine what they taste like. Did you know just thinking about food can raise your insulin levels? It's true! lol

  22. Oh the irony!....

Girl: I'd like a triple vanilla ice cream sundae with chocolate syrup, nuts, whipped cream, topped off with a slice of cucumber.

Waiter: Did I hear you right? Did ou say top it off with a slice of cucumber?

Girl: Good heavens, you're right! forget the cucumber – I'm on a diet.
