Come! Glean!

All you will need to know today is going to be right here.
Yup, after this you can go relax and know you've learned all there is to learn today!
Okay, maybe not.
But go ahead and read any way. It will make me happy at least!
And we all know that it's all about me being happy! Uh, huh! You know it!

This week I learned that....

1. .....this game, created by my 7 year old, that cost next to nothing for him to make and involves monkey dances, cowboy dances, snowman sculpting, and Pooh Bear imitations, can bring just as many laughs and fun as this game.Though I am a bit better at driving then I am cowboy dancing!

2. .....if Wit's End was an actual place, I'd have a condo on the beach there, because I seem to be there quite a bit lately! Can anyone relate?

3. .......not setting one clock forward can mess with you ALL day.

4. .....I still have it in me to want to slap the taste out of someone's mouth for setting off fireworks on the street behind us at 11:30 at night! I said want to. I didn't. Don't worry!

5. ...I might have been sending off the wrong vibe this week because my 4 year old kept asking me if I was alright! LOL!

And last but not least.

6. .....I may or may not be getting a little bit more ornery the closer I get to 40. Only 4 more months! *sigh*
You can start sending coffee and chocolate now to help me through it! LOL!

Did you learn anything mind blowing this week?
Do tell!
If this didn't do it for you then you could always head on over to Musings of a Housewife to learn more.

HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

  1. I'm right there with you about being at wits end, and I love this post. Especially the part about the game, it can be great when they use their imaginations!

  2. "slap the taste out of someone's mouth" ??? Love it. Hilarious. And firecrackers in March? Pourquoi???

The game your 7-y/o made up is awesome. I love creative kids.

  3. I have learned that being Nana Banana (funny all the time) Is easy when they visit for a couple of hours!! I have been "On" for 48 hrs and still have 48 more to go..I'm exhausted!!

That I don't need to go to the restroom..ends up being a wet bed (him not me)

And that you must have some Texan in you..slap the taste out of their mouth is used all the time in the South..lol

I love the game idea!! Some of our best games were made out of poster board..sharpie markers..and counting bears or figurines from an old game.

  5. I love the "slap the taste out of their mouth" saying. Our 4th of July last year, our wonderful neighbor set of a big boom right by our window in between our houses. I ran outside ready to take care of business! Man Oh Man!

  6. Hey Kim. I've been to Wit's End. I don't think they'll let you in though. You've got too much witty-ness coming out of your ears and that, my dear, is NOT tolerated. Besides, it's not such a great place anyways. The people seem to have lost their sense of humor. Even the weather is awful there. I heard that, next to Seattle, it's the #1 vacation spot for clouds, rain, and lightning. Oh, and I don't think they have any condos on the beach and they don't have a beach either. So, you see, it's not such a great place to visit. Come to think about it, they do have one good thing going for them. Everybody who visits gets a complimentary shrink.

  7. They know my name in Wit's End too. Are you a regular too? Welcome.

I will be forty in August. Oh, it hurts just saying it!!!

    Love your blog.

My daughter loves to make up games too.

    Have a wonderful day.

  8. My sister used to make up games like that all of the time when we were young and she would beg and beg us all to play. She would change the rules all of the time, especially if she wasn't winning. LOL I guess when you are the master game creator, you get to do that. You just might not have many game players after awhile because they get tired of having to learn new rules in order to be able to play. :) sorry just a memory flashback for me. LOL

  9. Oh I definitely an done for the day now - I can't possibly fit any more learnin' in my pitiful nearly 40-yr old brain! So if I only have 4 weeks left til 40, does that mean I'm allowed to just start yelling at everybody?! ;) Fun game that your son made up!!

Big better-firecrackers-than-guns hugs to you! By the way, a few months ago, some teens were somewhat regularly setting off firecrackers in the park behind us at midnight - they would do one loud boom and then another maybe 20-30 min later. But I haven't heard that in a while.

    Have a fabulous day! :)

  10. Kim,

I would be rather upset if you could call it that with the fireworks as well. It seems like the older I get the less I can tolerate! I can see how living in a senior center might be for us after all.

  12. Self-created toys always bring more fun! :) My daughter's been carrying around a paper towel tube all week, claiming it's her flute. WAY cheaper than the keyboard and guitar she has!

  13. Not sure if I want to share everything I've learned. My kids think I'm old and tease me about my gray hairs and wrinkles> I didn't think I had many of those.

I learned that antemeridian is A.M. Duh! I never thought of that.

  14. Genius of a game!

I learned that just because the weather hits 60, it doesn't mean I should automatically don a tank top and shorts. Seriously, in about 2 minutes the fleece had to go back on and the shorts flew back in their cave!

  15. That looks like the most fun game and cowboy dances...I can totally see you and your son doing the cowboy. LOL
    Cute.
