So most of you know by now that we are not moving. If you didn't know that, well now you do. And if you didn't know we were moving in the first place then you don't stop by near as often as you should. LOL!
And most of you also know that I had packed 90% of my home in anticipation of our closing date and moving day. But now I am left with the grueling task of unpacking those lovely boxes filled with treasures.
But in the midst of it all, my husband and I did some brainstorming and we (I) decided that he needs to move out, of the office that is, and let me have the whole room. LOL!
Actually I convinced him of my need to make it into a sewing/craft/homeschool room.
He agreed that I do need more space to spread out so he is moving his things in the little section out by the dining room and his desk, that is in the office, is going bye bye.
Gee, it's a good thing most of his things were already packed in boxes and made it easier to move from one room to the next (said in extremely dry humor).
So here's the little tidbit I hadn't told you yet.
First of all, I'm starting to think that I have a Hutch fetish. It's okay to have a fetish if it's something that can fit easily into your home decor'. But hutches are usually quite large, but I love them so.
We bought my first one to actually use as a hutch. The second one we bought and made over to house my craft and sewing stuff. And my poor husband actually found another one on Craigslist for $15.00 and as we were going to look at it he says, "Boy this was self inflicted, wasn't it?" LOL!
We ended up getting it for $10.00. It's pretty cheaply put together but it's going to work for what I want it for.
Yes, this is my current project.

Yes, this is my current project.
I'm going to turn it into a Homeschool Hutch. And it's somehow going to fit into my craft/sewing/homeschool room with my other hutch, desk, 2 bookshelves and a craft table. LOL! No folks it's not a very big room, in fact I think it's like 12x11 ft. It's going to be interesting to say the
least.
This is what my future craft room looks like now.
Did I mention I still have over 40 boxes to unpack?
So there's a little insight to what I'll be doing this week!
Stay tuned for after pictures coming soon....
LOVE YOU MY FRIENDS!

LOVE YOU MY FRIENDS!
Kim, you are hilarious!! I am so glad you are finding joy in all this!! I have been trying to talk my hubby out of his office so I could use it for homeschool for years, I hope I don't have to sell the house pack it up and then not sell the house to talk him into it, LOL
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings!!
You ARE hilarious!! You have a great ability to see the humor in things....however difficult they may be.
ReplyDeleteI also love the pic of your new room! Great potential there. And I know from experience that one can do amazing things in small spaces... :O
And I love your windows...Yes, your windows. Not sure about the one on the left, but the one on the right looks like one of those typical Florida-house crank-out windows....My dad has those in his house.
*sigh*...I'm really missing Florida today! :(
Hugs my friend!
Maria
You are such a hoot! Hey ~ if all of this was so that you could FINALLY have his office wasn't it worth it ;)
ReplyDeleteJust kidding but I am soo happy you are already seeing the good in the mess of all this!
I am believing for only more and more goodness for you guys!
Love you
Well, getting your own room for crafts and projects is an up side to not moving, and now you have another hutch project; you are keeping busy.
ReplyDeleteUnpacking all those boxes will be a lot of work.
Bless your heart! Your husband is a wise man and I know you will make your new space incredible. Go all the way to the ceiling if you have to. I'm sending Texas sized hugs your way. Now go have some chocolate and get Cathy to take you for a much deserved pedicure!
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason why you needed to pack all of your things! To get your homeschool room. Whew, glad we didn't have to wait til the Rapture on that one! lol
ReplyDeleteYou are a hoot! Give Brad a hug for me. tee hee
Love ya!
Wow my friend - I thought packing up and almost moving would mean you have *less* stuff, not more furniture - LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your room turns out and what you do with that hutch. Sounds like some good ideas!
Big you-might-have-to-change-the-name-of-your-blog-to-Homesteader's-Hutches size hugs to you!! Have a SUPER day my friend! :)
Have fun unpacking 40 boxes - you are one lady that could turn anything into fun. Looking forward to seeing the new project completed - you are an inspiration to us all:)
ReplyDeleteYour blog always makes me smile and/or chuckle. I am sorely lacking in the humor department, but you, my dear, abound in it...and that is good for all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou know, don't you, that I would be right there to help you unpack if there wasn't this thing called miles between us.
Can't wait to see the craft/homeschool room when it's all finished.
Have a great day.
Love,
Patti
We've been here 3 weeks and I think I still have at least 40 boxes to unpack! LOL!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I must just say..."Oh Kim...*sigh*".
ReplyDeleteThen, I must say..."I REALLY like that hutch and NEVER find cute ones like that when I'm looking!".
THEN, I must say..."It's gonna look great. Are you gonna paint the walls?"
Your positive attitude is amazing! I am sure it will make everything easier to deal with. That hutch is really cool and can't wait to see what you do to it!
ReplyDeleteOh my, Im so impressed by your wonderful attitude thru all of this. I could not imagine packing my whole house and mentally preparing for a new home only to have to unpack and stay. (for the record, I think your current home is darling and precious!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a craft room/ hutch project. You inspired me to redo my jelly cupboard.
xoxo
You have such a great attitude!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhh Kimmmmmm. I'm so sad you aren't moving to Texas! Oh wait, I guess you weren't moving here, but since you aren't moving I can express my own disappointment in your not moving near me, right?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, though, I think your attitude is fantastic, and I'm happy you get your new homeschool room!
Good luck girly. That hutch is very cool. I could use one of those. Git r dun! I know you can. I am your cheerleader.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Mimi
