Hurricane Brad Hits Indialantic!

"Honey I need a new chain saw."
"Okay." I said. "Go buy one if you need one."

The rest is history!

Before

(Make note of the ladder perched against the tree. My husband was up there with a chain saw and I was inside on my knees! LOL!)

After
Do you see a difference?

How about now?

This was a ficus tree.
If you've ever had a ficus tree growing in your yard you know that their roots are VERY intrusive. Like, don't plant them by a pool intrusive or a septic tank intrusive or really by anything that involves cement intrusive.

This little cut back was about 10-12.5 years to late.
Because had we (and we I mean him and him alone) had done it earlier, this may not have happened to my pretty little arbor.

I'm pretty sure he'll build me another one. He's good like that!
So what has your hubby been doing lately? LOL!

HUGS!

  4. Your arbor looks so sad...but if I know Brad, and I think I do, you're gonna get something better! :)
Um, what's my hubby been doing lately? Well, you know. :)

  8. Wow!! Is Brad secretly a lumberjack?! That was a very huge tree to get rid of.

Can't wait to see your new arbor.

As for my hubby...he just spent the weekend at a craft show...a successful show for a change!! He sold a couple of Garrett's cigarbox guitars.

Have a lovely day, sweet friend.

    Love you,
    Patti

  9. Wow!! Big difference! Isn't it wonderful to have hubbies that can do that sort of thing? My hubs got a chainsaw a couple years ago and cut down 2 trees. Definitely saves a few hundred dollars, but gives us wives great stress - LOL!

Big don't-scare-me-like-that-by-putting-the-word-hurricane-in-your-title size hugs to you! :) Have a super fabulous day my lovely friend!! Love you!

  10. Wow! Impressive! What an enormous ficus tree. We have a ficus tree in our living room...it's from hobby lobby so I don't have to worry about its roots. Ha! Have a blessed day!

  11. I would have had heart failure if I saw my hubby doing that! Geez, he could have broken his neck! Glad that he is OK and the tree is history.

My hubby has had his feet planted firmly on the ground and cooked dinner tonight (as he does most nights, LOL).

  12. My husband? I don't want him TOUCHING a chain saw or on a ladder to be honest. He's not a fix-it guy.

We have dead tree in our yard, against the fence. The guys we use to help us, told me it cost $750 to take it out complete (out of site). We're gonna have to wait on that.

    Gee... ya'll are brave.

  13. OK, this is too weird. Every time I scroll down, as soon as a picture starts to show up on the screen, the text above it disappears. Scroll back up, words, scroll back down, no words. Am I the only one with a 'special' puter? Anyhow I finally figured out that there were words between the pics and managed to get the gist. If Brad runs out of chainsaw playmates, I have plenty of fun waiting for him. 8-}

OH! And I finally read your comment! GET OUTA HERE! No kidding?! Maybe this month isn't going to be a total horror, after all. 8-} And in answer to your question, since it's the only name not stockinged yet, SOPHIE. 8-]

    Love ya loads, sweet cakes!
    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  17. Goodness gracious! What a man you have! and what a tree that was!! Only being 10 - 12.5 yrs too late isn't that bad....NOT! At least it only hurt your arbor right! I'm sure it could have been MUCH worse!! Can't wait to see the new arbor ~ Is it going to be RED ;)

    Love you

  19. When my husband climbes a ladder that tall with a chain saw in his hand, I never, ever, watch.

And it happens way too often.

What a difference that made in your yard. Wow!
