A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

Lisa's making me do a blog post!

So I was just taking a few days to reevaluate some things and my dear friend Lisa caught me on FB and told me that I must post. "Post, post, post." she said. "People are going to worry about you." she said.
So here's my post full of white noise, just for Lisa!
Does any one want me to use bullets? Cause I will. Because  you know I love them and they make me look smart and like I have it all together.
Here are some thoughts that have been going through my noggin'.
  • Does my blog contribute to the blogging community?
  • Is it worth the time and effort?
  • Do people get anything from it?
  • Would it be missed if it just disappeared? Really? Honestly?
  • What is that stuff on the tile and why won't it come off?
  • Did you really "need" to know about my washer and dryer ?
  • What really keeps you coming back to read? Really?
  • Why does chocolate have to taste so good?
  • Can I honestly put myself on a schedule and stick to it?
  • Is it possible to do everything well?
Well there you have it Lisa. A post just to make you happy. And no one else needs to answer those questions but Lisa. LOL!

HUGS!

  1. YAY!!!!!! I rock for making you post - LOL!!! :)

I've had all these same thoughts my friend and go back and forth. But here are my answers for you...

~ Yes, your blog contributes smiles to the blogging community (and it desperately needs them)
~ It is worth the time and effort if it makes you happy. You can always post less often if you need a little break.
~ People get love, smiles, laughter, encouragement and a brighter day from your blog!
~ It would be missed a LOT! Really. Honestly.
~ I don't what that is on the tile - I just know it's not my fault.
~ Yes, I needed to know about your washer and dryer. My day would not have been complete otherwise.
~ I keep coming back 'cause you are my friend and that's what you pay me to do. LOL! I come for the smiles and laughter and a glimpse in the life of another mom like me!
~ Oh the chocolate. It has to taste good so that we keep eating it to prevent an overabundance of chocolate in the world. We must do our part.
~ I don't know about the schedule. I need one, but I am TERRIBLE about sticking to one!
~ No. It is NOT possible to do everything well. I know!

Big happy-sigh-now-that-you-have-posted-and-I-have-commented-and-I-can-continue-on-with-my-day size hugs to you!!!! LOVE YOU!! :)

  2. I'm really glad you posted! :D I figured you just trying to get back into the swing of school. It has been different for us this year and trying to get a handle on it...

I wish I knew why it had to taste so good but make me feel horrible when I eat too much

    (((Hugs)))

  3. I wonder those things sometimes too. But you know what? It just doesn't matter. If you enjoy doing it then do it. If not, then just post whenever you feel like it. Even if it is only once in a while.

    I love chocolate too......

  4. I haven't been worried about you. I knew you started school recently, and I just figured you were busy with that. Especially because it is probably about time to be teaching child #3 to read, right? That is going to take the lion's share of your time and is far more important than blogging.

I know from my own experience that sometimes blogging has to take a backseat. You know that I only recently returned to the blog world after a 15 month hiatus. You are the only one who knows what is best for your family, and if you feel the need to disengage for a time, then do it. We will all still be here when you come back.

    Hugs,

  7. OF COURSE we would miss you if you stopped blogging! We don't even say the words "no blogging" here in blog land!

I come here for your humor and your handy-dandy tips for baking soda. lol

Girl, you can't even talk about chocolate until you drive to your mall and get some Harry & David's Chocolate Truffles.

    Schedules? What are those?

    I love bullets, too. ;-)

    Hugs...

  8. I missed you and was so glad to catch you on FaceBook this morning. We all have to evaluate ever so often. I join with the others, do what is best for you and your family, but our days are brighter because of YOUR blog posts!

Sometimes I wonder some of your same questions and take breaks from blogging or don't post very often. But people are relational...we need other people and we need an intimate relationship with our God. When I was a little girl, my mom went to community quiltings or other meetings to connect with other moms. When my boys were young, I got together with other moms at the park or the library or other places. Today I seem to connect with others over the web. LIFE changes.

  9. Lisa is a good friend and she must have super powers to get you to write this post. Please keep on posting. I think of my blog as fun for me, and I hope you can think of your blog in that way, meant to be fun for you. There is no need for a schedule, post as the spirit moves you dear.

  10. Awww... But I want to answer some of your questions... So I will! (cuz' you know deep down you wanted someone to)

Everything well? No, no one can do that except God, so don't beat yourself up over it.

Schedule? Maybe, but if you are like me don't count on it.

Chocolate? Don't know, but it does make things hard when you are trying to "eat right" doesn't it?

Back to read? Because I want to... So there!

Washer? No, but it's your life and your blog, if you wanna post it do so!

Stuff on tile? Can't help ya there :)

    Missed? Yes! Love Friday Funnies!

Blog worth time? That's up to you.

Anything from it? A laugh or two :)

Contribute? I don't know are you part of a blogging community or do you just blog? Mine's not part of a community nor do I have a community but I like to blog despite the fact that I don't have a lot of people who follow along. It's a hobby I enjoy and ya know they* say you should always have a hobby.

*Not sure who "they" are but I've heard that they say it :)

  11. Gracious, have you had your hormone levels checked lately. Why so many questions that you are pondering? Do you not have enough to think about with life? Do you know that I was worried about you, wondering why you weren't posting? Do you realize that some people don't do Facebook at all? Really? Do you know it's almost September? Do you know that all kinds of Halloween candy will be available soon at the store? Do you know the way to San Jose?

LOL! Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I've written down your addy and will see if I can send you some Canadian post cards during our trip!

  12. Girl, you are one of my favorites! I always look forward to your posts. We all would miss you like crazy...and I'm sure if we were all honest we wonder about those questions for ourselves too. You have a ministry in blog land and He shines so beautifully through you. So, keep up the good work.

  15. OK. SERIOUSLY! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU ~ GO AWAY??? NEVER!!!!

You weren't posting. Kathy isn't posting. I am thinking you all have gone off the chocolate deep end! ;) Or Stuck in a Starbucks somewhere!

I have missed you both so much but know it is school time for you and well, her honey needs her right now so i was being polite *ahem*

What would we do without you? Without your amazing ideas? Your Friday Funnies? Your Love, Leadership and all you have "Learned Lately?"
Besides you just redid your blog and HEY you can't stop now RIGHT!! *SMILE*

Love you! Come back when you are good and ready but know you soooo contribute and would be missed MORE THAN ALL THE CHOCOLATE IN THE WORLD!!

  16. Now that's one creative list. Like the question about what is that on the tile? I have often wondered that here, too? Thanks for a good giggle to start off the day.
Peace and blessings to your day!

  19. I know I'm not here all the time...
okay, I'm not over here most of the time, but I REALLY DO look forward to reading your posts. You always make me LOL. And I do mean really LOL, not just the letters LOL. My dog even looks at me with a strange expression on her face. :)

And like Loren said, you just had your blog makeovered. LOL!

"A cheerful heart is good medicine." (You'll have ta look it up, I'm being lazy right now.) So your blog is a ministry to the broken hearted and the stressed out alike.

    So that just answered #1, 2, 3, and 4.

I don't know what that stuff on the tile is but I'd wear gloves before trying to clean it.

I didn't know about your washer and dryer but now I need to.

I come back cause your sweet, and kind, and funny, and you knock on my door once in a while even when I've neglected you. (Blogging has taken a backseat to life on my end too.)

If chocolate tastes so good, why haven't you eaten that slice of chocolate cake yet??

Schedule... praying for you on that one. Phil 4:19 (I hope that's right.)

NO! It is not possible to do everything well so be at peace with that.

Thanks Lisa for prompting this post!

I'm so sorry about the book I just wrote in your comments section. I hope there isn't a character limit.

    Love ya girl!

  20. Well I would miss you if you didn't blog. I don't always comment but I do enjoy reading. Yes, you can stick to a schedule just keep trying (at least that is what I do - keep trying). And I can't remember all the other questions - oh, I do want to hear about your washer and dryer. Really I do.
