It's Rednesday! My First Betty Crocker Cookbook!

I'm linking up with It's A Very Cherry World today.

When I thought about what wonderful red I was going to post about today I immediately remembered my cookbook that I had whipped out a few days earlier.

When I was young my Mom bought me this cookbook.

Inside it says: Revised Edition, Seventh Printing 1978.
That's probably around the time I got it, because I remember staring at the pages and drooling over the ice cream sundae and the peanut butter cupcakes.
I think maybe she was trying to encourage me to cook, but it didn't happen. I didn't have the desire the whole time I was growing up. So needless to say all I did was dream about the contents on the pages.

Here is a couple of pages inside the book.
I love the pictures!

In the back it had some great tips on table setting and table manners.

Fast forward years later.....

When I got married my mom bought me this one.
I think she was trying to tell me something. What do you think? LOL!
This one has actually gotten used A LOT! It was my very first cookbook as an adult so it was my go to book for recipes.
I still use it from time to time and it has the spills and stains on the pages to prove it.

If you have some red in your life that you'd like to share, head on over to It's a Very Cherry World and link up!

HUGS!

  2. So Mom finally got thru to you! LOL! I love those well loved cookbooks. Would have loved to have had you participate a few weeks ago in Vintage Love Saturday as the theme a few weeks ago was vintage cookbooks.

  6. I had the same cookbook, but the kid on the cover was different. I'll have to look up the year-mine is probably a little older than yours. I used to love mine and still have it. Happy Reds!

  10. Thanks so much for sharing your cookbooks with us - I've never seen the Junior Cookbook before. The illustrations are charming! (I still have my BC from the 70's, it's very soiled from use and the covers were lost to a Siberian Husky puppy many years ago.)

    Happy Rednesday,
    Sally
