The Homestead Dog!

This is our dog Murphy. She’s 14 almost 15 years old now. We’ve had her for about 12 years. She was spoiled rotten when we got her and had plenty of bad habits, none of which we broke her from. I guess you can’t stop an old dog from doing old tricks. She’s having her range of problems that comes with age, but one thing she still does amazes people to this day.
It’s how she lays. This is how she lays a lot of the time. We’ve gotten used to it and don’t really think about it but when people come over they can’t imagine how it’s comfortable for her. LOL!

How about a bird’s eye view?

So here’s what I’m wondering. Do any of your dogs lay like this and if so what breed are they?
Have a fabulous day my friends.

  1. Awww! Too funny! Dd's cat spreads out over the side of the arm of the couch, and I've seen some odd positions when they sleep.

  2. Hahaha! Murphy is quite flexible for her age!

Our dog does that with one leg, but not both. Her name is Blondie. She's approximately 16 years old, also spoiled rotten. She's a collie-mix.

Stop by my blog sometime this week...I'm having a GIVEAWAY!

    Hugs...

  3. lol! I'm sorry, but it's a little funny. I've never seen that before and I have been around a lot of dogs in my life.. some of them even of the canine family... lol... I couldn't help but put that one in there!

My daughter has a shitztu that loves to lay on hard objects... like table tops, glass etc...

Looks like your precious dog has a sense of humor just like it's owner! lol...

    Thanks for sharing this..

  4. This is the silliest and cutest way to lie down, how in the world do her legs do that? I have never seen a dog rest like that.

  7. It's funny looking, but she seems so happy. I'm glad you're enjoying her. How sweet. Our dogs are all outside so I don't know if I'd even be able to tell you how they put their legs when they lay down. Lisa~

  9. That's so funny! Murphy sounds like a wonderful fur-friend who brings a lot of excitement to your lives! :-)

Our dog never laid like that, but she was a standard poodle. She just passed away this past Monday at the ripe old age of 14. Miss her something awful!

  10. I want a groundhog view!! Lol! Poor lil Murph...That is one dog that beats the energizer bunny! ....Okay so I need some help Kim. I know this is off the subject but I have come into some whole wheat Penne Pasta and do not know how to make it taste good. I tried different noodle salads and "YUCK"! I was thinking about an Italian dish but don't want to waste meat. Any thoughts?

  12. It did strike me as funny when I saw her! It just doesn't look comfortable, but it must be! And no, Buster doesn't do that, but it could be because his legs are too short! :)

Big when-you're-that-age-it's-all-about-the-comfort-and-who-cares-what-others-think size hugs to you!! Have a fabulous evening my friend! Love ya! :)
