Blogging Encouragement!

My dearest friend Lisa over at Stop and Smell the Chocolates has put a lot of time and effort into this series.

She broke it down into bite size pieces for you and you can check it out by clicking on the button above.

We all go through slumps in our blogging so if you are in need of some blogging encouragement, I’d check it out.

There isn’t a whole lot I can add to what she’s already said but here are a few things that I think are important to remember.

1. Don’t compare your blog to another. It’s unhealthy. We are all different and will write different, have different tastes, have different talents etc. You can’t compare apples to oranges. I’ve got news for you. Not everyone is going to like you and that’s okay. Be comfortable in your own skin.

2. Enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy it it will reflect in your writing and people won’t want to read it therefore leading you to discouragement. Blogging isn’t for everyone.

3. Give in order to receive. We all love comments. We are naturally interactive and love hearing feedback.  But remember, people are reading even if they don’t comment. I’ve had people out of the blue tell me what a blessing my blog is to them and I’ve never heard from them again, but that one comment meant the world to me. So make sure that you take a little time to leave comments around the blogosphere and be an encouragement to someone because you know how good it feels yourself.

4. The Niche’. I’ve yet to find mine. Yes, after 5 years of blogging I’m still nicheless. I’m a wearer of many hats and you never really know what you’re going to get on my blog and that’s okay. It reflects me and after all, you’re here because of me right? *wink*

Well that’s all I’m going to say on the subject. If you have time and really need some in depth encouragement make sure you check out Lisa’s series and if you yourself have an encouraging post, she is having a link up today. Come join in. The more encouragement the better!

  1. Thanks for the encouragement. I really needed it.

  2. Ya know, I think I'm 'nicheless" too, but that's okay. I still have fun when I can get around to blogging. I just had to decide that I couldn't do all of those Memes everyone has because I would feel guilty if I missed it. I also decided that as much as I loved project 365, it's not for my blog. I put too much time into the post and then don't get around to posting about the things I really wanted to post about.

  3. I'm a bit random and nichless too, but I like it that way...that is when I actually have the time to blog. Love you girlie and I adore your blog.

  4. You rock my friend!! Great advice and encouragement! Thank you so much for being a part of my series. You really do bless me with your encouragement on your blog and in your comments! Muah!!

Big encouraging-you-to-keep-encouraging-me size hugs to you!! :) Love you MUCH my friend!

  5. You TOTALLY have a niche! You are "Life on Laughs"

  6. Hi Kim - thanks for stopping at my blog. I liked your post - I think I'm nicheless too!
Good luck in the giveaway at my place. :)

  7. Thanks for the wonderful encouragement. My blog, I write it because it is fun :) :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

  8. Awesome post! This all so true. Nice to see it written down in a blog post. Blessings to you, Jackie

  9. lol. My blog is also nicheless. I don't know how to decide the niche since I pour all of my activities and stories there. hmm.....

I also love to read other blogs since it gives me more experiences and mind and spiritual healths.

Sometimes I don't know what to comment and I just encourage the post with my comment.

Thanks for the nice post. (this is not a speechless comment though)

  10. What do you mean that you don't have a niche??? It's FUN!

  11. Thank you for this--I'm going to check out Lisa's site next, I could use some encouragement.
I've just found your site and have been enjoying looking around.
    Thanks, Eileen

  12. I have a surprise gift for you! Please visit my blog!

  13. What a great post! You truly are encouraging and I am so thankful :)

I am definitely being a very bad blogger right now. I receive the ProBlogger emails and they had a post titled "12 things Bad Bloggers do" or something like that. Well, unfortunately I could check off quite a few! :(

Thanks for such a wonderful encouraging post!
    You are awesome girl!
    Love you

I really appreciate the time you take to leave a comment. Thank you!
