Although I’ve wanted to announce the winner to the gingerbread competition and show you our Christmas party pictures, it’s all just paled in comparison to what happened early Friday morning in a small town in Connecticut.
The news hit me hard as I watched my own elementary school aged children play outside. Yes, I homeschool but you never know what lies around the corner. Those parents never in a million years would have thought that that could have happened to them, to their children. It’s tragic in every sense of the word.
I learned from the unexpected passing of my friend Cheryl in October that you have to seize the day, tell people you love them. Send that note, make that phone call, because you just never ever know.
With that said, I hope you’ll join me in praying for these families and friends that are in deep sorrow and suffering right now. Empty beds, Christmas stockings that won’t be filled, presents that will never be opened, it’s just unbearable to think about. But God is still on the throne and He is the greatest Comforter of all.
OXOX,
Kim
Beautifully said, my friend. The moments we have are precious and we never know what tomorrow will bring. So we need to make each day count.
ReplyDeleteYes, I will join you in prayer for those who are grieving.
Praying, too. Praying, crying, and praying some more.
ReplyDeleteSo very sad. They have definitely been in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteBig comforting size hugs to you my friend!
