HSM3

(Disclaimer: this post is not going to interest too many of my readers and I apologize up front lol.)

Yup we did it! My best friend Kathy and I took my daughter to go see this movie. It was opening night and excitement was in the air. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I won't ruin the movie for those who are still going to go see it (all of maybe 1 of you lol) ,but I will tell you that the dancing numbers were phenomenal. These kids can sing and dance. There was a waltz number that I thought was great, though her dress could have been a bit longer lol. That's the Mom part coming out! They definitely stepped it up a notch. Here is what I didn't understand. Most of the audience was 4 and 5 year olds. I'm not sure what they could possibly get out of this movie because it didn't deal with elementary issues. It dealt with life choices and friendships and struggles along the way. But if you have a 4 and 5 year old maybe you can share with me just what they love about it lol. I may be missing something. It was very clean except for a short skirt and a little low cut shirt. But other than that it was very clean, cute even. Call me corny but there you have it lol.
Here is a clip from the waltz. If nothing else it's a beautiful song. Enjoy!

  2. Ahhhh - dreamy... :) Yup, call me a dork - I have no kids at home, I have no daughter and I really liked this movie! LOL. I love dancing/singing movies anyway and they really kicked this one up a notch - fantastic powerful dance scenes all through it! :) I'm so glad you have a daughter or we would have looked REALLY out of place, lol.

  4. Kim,

Ahhhh, it was cute. I saw bits and pieces from the others because of my niece always having it on. But you are right, I can't imagine what 4 or 5 year olds would get out of it unless it was animated...when you become enlightened, let me know. LOL

    Hugs to you!

  5. Oh, can't wait to see it, and I'm glad to hear they stepped it up a notch or two! ;) Maybe the 4 and 5 year old moms were dragged to the movies by their musical mother or their teenage babysitter. ;) Funny!

  6. I'm so glad ya'll had such a good time and that the movie was good. I have never seen any of them, but my twin cousins, who will be 8 this year, asked for the musical(s)? last year on DVD. My aunt said they had worn out the copy she had VHSd for them. At their age, I'm not sure what they found appealing - the music, the dancing, perhaps? They were just getting into American Idol and I guess maybe that's what sells to the younger market - the music and dancing. That waltz was simply beautiful and the song was amazing! I may have to watch them. Sometime. I'm *so* not a musical fan, except for South Pacific and The Phantom of the Opera. (Which I enjoyed once and will probably never watch again.) Oh, I loved Chicago, so maybe I like musicals more than I realized?

Thanks so much for your comment and quote left on my most difficult blog post ever. I was reluctant to post it b/c I steer clear of those topics, but the quote was awesome and inspiring. I will definitely be voting on principle.

  7. My daughter is going tomorrow to see it. She has seen the other two. We even had a big party here for the 2nd one. My DD is 15, I'm not sure why all the little one's like it, maybe because it's not a cartoon and it's actually a BIG People show they can watch without to much stuff that would be offensive to them.

Thanks for the review. I love it that they kept it G rated.

  8. Even though I have boys, my oldest likes these movies. We'll have to wait until this one comes out on dvd though and be on the eternal hold list at the library. LOL

  9. I'm sure she had on "bloomers" under her dress, like I make Brea wear! Ha!
    Very cute, nonetheless.
Only 2 months until Christmas! I can hardly wait!

  11. Sigh. I so love those kind of movies, but hubby does NOT! And I don't have a daughter! I have not been "allowed" to watch the other 2 while hubby and son are home.

I have to find a weekend where I can convince them to leave me alone and I'll watch them all! :)

  13. Glad you got to see it. It's #1 at the box office. I was reading earlier today that it closed at $43 million!!! Unbelieveable!

Anywho, it's already on the calendar to take our girls next weekend.

Thanks for sharing the video clip. I enjoyed it! lol
