I did it so you wouldn't have to!

What did I do? I taught myself some lessons! Yup, it's Tuesday and time to reflect on the past week. Lisa admits that she loves it when I learn so she doesn't have to. LOL! So I really feel like I'm doing a public service here and will try to keep it up as best I can. Anything for my friends.
Let's just jump right into it shall we?
This week I learned that......

1. .....chocolate is a great motivator!

2. .......that I really need to check my sugar stash when doubling a chocolate chip cookie recipe BEFORE I start making them. *sigh*

3. .....that I'm a cake snob and I really don't want to eat cake that isn't homemade and from a box unless I'm just trying to be nice and not offend anyone! LOL. And apparently so is my son who had his birthday this past Sunday and wouldn't touch the Publix cake I bought, because if you were with me last week you know that I didn't get MOTIVATED until two days before his birthday! *sigh*

4. .....this conversation actually happened between a little boy who is 6 months older than my son (who is 4) and his two older sisters. It went something like this "I really like that boy Brody (my son) but I can't understand a word he's saying to me. Is he German?" Are you cracking up? To give you a little background, my son still doesn't speak very clearly. I don't know why but he doesn't and we are about the only ones who knows what he is saying!! I laughed so hard when my daughter told me that! German! Ha!

5. ...prayer is a powerful thing. Welcome home Kathy! I love you!

6. .....that one should ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS have a little chocolate stashed away in case of an emergency. ( Like last week!)

Well I hope you appreciate the things I've learned this past week so you don't have to go to all the trouble of learning them yourself. Just trust me on this. Take a deep breath ,eat some chocolate, don't lick any pigs and you'll be okay!
Oh and if you have some wisdom you'd like to share today head on over to Musings of a Housewife and link up!

BIG GIANT HUGS!!

  3. Great lessons.

    I can't afford to be a cake snob, as I rarely bake cakes. However.....with my new kitchen and new oven, I have no more excuses.

    Have a great week, and thanks for visiting.

  5. Hey Kim. Too bad we don't live closer. I would've made you a cake. I had a store bought cake for my birthday too. Isn't that ironic. I make cakes for everyone else's b-day but when it comes to mine, I get a good o' grocery store cake. Oh well...at least I had cake, right?

    BTW, I found you on the BlogCatalog and thought I'd check to see how you're doin

  6. LOL! Someone once asked me if DS had grown up in England. I have no idea where they got that. He has no accent, but he was, in his younger days, hard to understand. OK, still is sometimes when he's excited. And we ARE part German! 8-}

    Isn't it interesting how so many of the things you learn have to do with food, particularly chocolate? LOL!

    Love ya tons, sweet thang!
    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

    Oh, and PS... I see your widget doesn't like Lisa, either. Glad I noticed, coz I was about to start thinking she was erasing my notches! ;}

  16. I so agree with the chocolate ones of course. And I HATE it when I go to bake something and discover I don't have the right ingredients. It seems to happen EVERY time.
