......that I have some fun things to share with you today? No? Well now you do.

First, Did you know that July 7th is CHOCOLATE day? You heard me. Chocolate day. Somebody pinch me! I must celebrate in some extremely chocolatey way. I'll keep you posted.

AND did you know about this wonderful free E-book that Molly from Econobusters has put together and wants me to share with all of you. NO? Well then I bet you're glad you stopped by today. It's chock full of wonderful summer chillin' recipes and ideas. Click on the picture to take you to the page to read all about it.
So did you know any of this so far? Uh huh! See, once in awhile you get some worth while information on this ol' blog of mine. Might I remind you about the "baking soda"? Mmm hmm. That's right.

But wait, there's more!

Debra from the Notebooking Pages website has just finished her Mom's Home Journal Set and it is just so cute!! AND she's going to be starting up a sister site just for Mom's called, what else? Mom's Toolbelt. But it won't be ready until some time in July so keep checking back.

I hope you've enjoyed this first edition of Did You Know, because there may be more! Be afraid, be very afraid!

LOVE YOU GALS!

Hutch Makeover # 2!

Okay I'm pretty sure my husband is not going to let me purchase any more hutches, as this hutch is hutch #3 and hutch #4 is out in the workshop. As much as I love me some hutches, I think we have officially stopped buying them.
Actually my good friend Lisa suggested that I change my blog name to Homesteader's Hutches! Ha! Ha! Ha! Love it!

Any way, the hutch out in the workshop right now is going in my daughter's room so I'm going to give her some pointers on making it over so she can step back and feel good about the work she's done when it's over.

So let's get to it.

This hutch cost $10.00. Cheap yes! And cheaply made. (Particle Board Nightmare) But I was determined to make it work.
It WAS going to be a place to store my home-school supplies and such but it actually turned into another craft/sewing hutch. Long story! But anyway for those of you who saw my last hutch makeover you know that I have a love for red and white and since my last one was white with red accents I thought I would do this one the opposite way and have it red with white accents since they are both going to be in the same room.

I know I know. Blah! Blah! Blah! Show me the hutch, right?
So without further ado, the hutch makeover.

BEFORE.....
and the AFTER!
Already stocked full of stuff. I wanted practical but decorative too.

This piece was a bit more of a pain then my other hutch that was solid wood. Particle board is no fun to work with. TRUST ME! I gave up on it being perfect and actually decided on a distressed approach because it was just not happening. Paint peeling, wrong color paint, repainting, needless to say I was over it and was glad when my wonderful husband came in and saved the day. (As always!) In the end, I don't think it looks half bad for a $10.00 hutch. (That actually turned into a $40.00 hutch by the time we bought paint, more paint, different color paint and satin clear coat! LOL!

Have a great day my friends.

I'm linking up with....

It's a very Cherry World! Rednesday!

Friday Funnies!

Hey! Hey! It's FRIDAY!
Woot! Woot!
I love Fridays. What about you?
It's a great time to laugh so if you have a family friendly funny please feel free to link it up below and spread the funny love!

I promise that my funny today has NOTHING to do with chocolate. That fact that I made No-Bake Cookies yesterday has nothing to do with this post.
But it does have to do with another love of mine.

Enjoy!
I can somehow relate to Bill! LOL!

Freddie was eighteen years old, friendly, and eager to do things right. Unfortunately, he wasn't especially bright. He had just started his first job, as a delivery boy and general go-fer at a furniture warehouse. His first task was to go out for coffee. He walked into a nearby coffee shop carrying a large thermos. When the counterman finally noticed him, he held up the thermos. "Is this big enough to hold six cups of coffee?" he said. The counterman looked at the thermos, hesitated for a few seconds, then finally said, "Yeah. It looks like about six cups to me." "Good," Freddie said. "Give me two regular, two black, and two decaf."

Have a fabulous day my friends.

Thank You Very Much! The Food Edition!

It's Free Therapy Day!! That's right, it's Thursday, which means it's Thank You Very Much day. The way it works is that you post your little peeves that may have affected you in some way during the week and say, Thank You Very Much in a less than slightly sarcastic tone.

1. To Chocolate, Thank You VERY Much for tasting so good. My hips and thighs greatly appreciate that!

2. To the carrot, why can't you taste more like chocolate, Thank You Very Much!

3. To Publix, where shopping truly is a pleasure, could you give me a break on the prices? We are a one income family, Thank You Very Much.

4. To the Newman O's Cookie, how cruel it is of you to only put 2 cookies as a serving with 130 calories, because you KNOW I'm not going to eat just 2, Thank You Very Much!

5. To my family, who because I made the mistake of "sharing" a few pieces of my chocolate with, now assumes that I'm going to do it all the time. I'm telling you right now, I'm cutting you off, Thank You Very Much!

6. And last but not least, You know it's hot out when the water that's coming out of the COLD side of the tap is 84 degrees and not very refreshing, Thank You Very Much!
If you feel the need to do a little venting head on over to Kmama's and give it a shot.

LOVE YOU MY SWEET FRIENDS!

Psst MOM! This is for you. I'll be posting pictures of the birthday this weekend, I promise!

Word-Filled Wednesday!

Psalms 95:5 The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.

This is the Atlantic Ocean. We live right across the street from it on a barrier island.
And as many times as we've been to the beach I am still in awe of how vast the ocean is. As far as the eye can see is nothing but water. And if you've ever had the "pleasure" of viewing this same ocean during a hurricane, it can be a bit daunting.

If you ever want to feel small, stand in front of it.
And if you ever want to feel smaller, look at an aerial map and see that your home is basically sitting on a toothpick right next to it. Talk about having to put your trust in Him.

To comprehend the fact that our God MADE this, is sometimes beyond comprehension.
The cool thing, is that this same God loves US. Can you believe that? Have you thought about that today?

Love you my friends.

Learning Something New About My Husband!

Over the past few weeks, okay years, I've had my fair share of chocolate. It's pretty much what makes the world go round.
But recently I've eaten probably MORE than my fair share of chocolate due to the bit of stresses that I've had with the whole house thing and all.
And in this time I've noticed something about my husband. I can no longer grab a piece of Dark Dove Chocolate without grabbing him one. And if I grab 2, he wants 2.
Now this can be good and this can be bad.

It's good because if he eats it, I won't.
It's bad because if he eats it, I can't.

Oh sure he looks innocent enough.
But if THIS enters the house when he's in it, he is most definitely a part of it! LOL!
What's a girl to do?

Honey, should I buy you your own bag of chocolate?

Does your husband feel this way about chocolate or something else you love that you are forced willing to share?

Have a FABULOUS day!
