Cooling Down the Summer with the Perfect Iced Coffee!

When I stumbled across the Pioneer Woman’s Iced Coffee I knew I was about to embark on something that would change my life forever. Okay, maybe it wasn’t life changing but it made me really really happy! Anyway, I immediately set out to make it. And although I can’t improve upon the recipe I feel that I can improve upon the technique of putting it together.

When I first tried the recipe, I did it just like she had written but I found that it was hard to stir in the condensed milk with the ice already in there, so this is how I do it!

First gather your ingredients!

Go ahead and pour your cold brewed coffee in your mason jar, half full!

Add your desired amount of condensed milk.

Start stirring.

It should be about this color when you’re done.

Now add your desired amount of half and half.

Put the lid on the mason jar and give it a really good shake. This will guarantee that everything is well incorporated.

Plus it makes it nice and “frothy”! Frothy’s fun! I like frothy! I like saying frothy.

NOW add your ice. IMG_2466

Voila’, the perfect iced coffee!

Have you tried this yet? If you haven’t and you’re a coffee drinker put this on your bucket list right now! LOL!

Enjoy!

  3. I never add half-and-half; I just brew a full pot of coffee (my coffeemaker does 14 c.) and then I pour that into a pitcher and add a tin of sweetened condensed milk. I leave one ice cube tray for leftover coffee during the summer so that when I make iced coffees, we can use the coffee ice cubes instead of watering down our drinks! Mmmmmm, perfect summer cool-down!
