I’ve lost that lovin’ feeling…..

…..with my Fall decor.  I’m sorry people I just can’t get into it. It’s doing nothing for me. I’m tempted to put the scarecrow brood back into storage, forever. Buh bye!

What I want to do is get the Christmas stuff down and decorate the first of November. I want to shake things up a bit, throw people off, make them think I’m crazy, or crazier. I mean I put a lot of effort into my Christmas decor and then I only get to enjoy it for less then a month. Don’t worry this would be strictly an inside job. My hubby refuses to put outside lights up until after Thanksgiving. So most people would never know. It would be my little secret. Bwah ha ha!

On an unrelated note. Thank you all so much for your feedback on my post the other day. I really appreciated your thoughtful words and insight. I’ll take quality over quantity any day. You all rock!

Well that’s it. That’s all I got for you. Short and sweet just like we like em’.

Don’t forget to come back for Friday Funnies tomorrow and to enter my giveaway for the Digital Scrapbooking Software.

HAVE A LOVELY DAY MY SWEET FRIENDS!

  1. I'm right there with you with the Christmas decor- but I think my family would think me absolutely nuts! (Except probably Melody- I think she would probably jump right in ;) )

Although concerning fall decor- I'm still doing it- but we don't have very many fall decorations anyway. :-)

  2. I am definitely not with you on this one (sorry). It bothers me greatly that Thanksgiving gets pushed out the door because people's minds are already on Christmas. Now, I don't even decorate for Christmas until mid-December. In decades past, they didn't put up the tree until Christmas Eve, and that is a tradition I have thought about going back to. People think that is crazy too!

Hope you're having a terrific day.

    Love and hugs,
    Patti

  3. Hi Kim! I am your newest follower, Nikki from Bundles of Blossoms~

I found you via The farm Chicks post yesterday when you "liked" my comment to Serena and I saw you had a blog. Okay, so now that the intros are done...........

I am just like you, but I do love the fall decorations, but I am biting at the bit to break out the massive amounts of my Christmas decor. I love to decorate! I say go ahead and break it all out and get the neighborhood chatting about ya-LOL!

  4. I'm just not feeling fall, either, this year. Will wait until November to put up the Christmas decor, though...it does get a little earlier each year when you'll find my Christmas tree up and decorated. :)

  5. I am ready too. I always decorate on my birthday, NOvember 17th. It's my gift to myself. We had lights put on the house last year and they will be back at the end of this month, although we won't turn them on until Thanksgiving. I say, go for it!

  6. Sorry, but I am NOT on your side on this one. ;) I LOVE fall. I don't want to think about winter and Christmas equals winter - so no Christmas decorations for me.
But, if you decide to decorate for Christmas now I will still love you. :)

  7. Last year I decorated for Thanksgiving for months because my MIL was coming for the first time in 25 years. This year, I have little or no ambition. I took my daughter to a farmer's market, let her choose some pumpkins, gourds and mini Indian corns and let her decorate. Yea, no loving feeling here, either.

  9. One tradition we started after I was divorced was that the Saturday after Thanksgiving we go buy our tree. I LOVE Thanksgiving and Christmas and right now we have vaulted ceilings, so my mom thinks I'm crazy when I get the biggest tree I can! Christmas Eve my daughter and I have our Christmas traditions and Christmas Day we share with my mom! I decorate whenever I want to... Crazy or not, I am me! Join the dark side of decorating early!

  10. You're stressing me out with this early Christmas decorating! What about poor Thanksgiving (my fave holiday)? I refuse to break out the Christmas stuff until December - LOL! But then I do leave it up at least a week into January.

Big you-really-seem-like-the-sort-of-person-who-should-have-a-year-round-Christmas-room size hugs to you!! Love you friend!! :)
